Anyone know where I can find an audio or video stream of Ahmadinejad's appearance at columbia? Blan on blogging it I can find one.
You need to change your tagline to “Ahmadinejad Fears Me.”
I, too, weep some days for my Country. But, you and I will always be OK. I plan on being one of the Last Women Standing when this finally shakes out. Join me? :)
Ah I see.
It gets worse, of course. John Edwards said as well, he too would meet. . .sit with Ahmadinejad; and added something to the effect of . . .'if he was sure he was just not playing games with us. . .'
Think Bill Buckley said it best - if in l963. . .as noted/quote by Scott at Powerlineblog.com:
/In his plea to the Yale Political Union not to host a Commuist Party functionary in 1963, Williiam Buckley referred to those such as Ahmadinejad and enjoined his audience:
Fight him, fight the tyrants everywhere, but do not ask them to your quarters, merely to spit on them, and do not ask them to your quarters if you cannot spit on them. To do the one is to ambush a human being as one might a rabid dog; to do the other is to ambush oneself, to force onself, in disregard of those who have died trying to make the point, to break faith with humanity.
In inviting Ahmadinejad to its quarters as an honored guest, today Columbia broke faith with America and, in Buckley's terms, with humanity./end/
Agree. Despite the rhetoric; the applause; the laughter; and some lame and lofty attempts offered to rationalize or rather more, to intellectualize the irrational. . .in truth, only a wash of darkness moved through that auditorium.
I didn’t see those remarks by Scott at Powerline; I must take a closer look. That is a powerful quote and statement. I like many of Scott’s posts.
How did the leftists come to overtake our institutions of higher learning?
I don’t care what Bollinger said, Columbia today used the First Amendment against the very ones who fought, bled, suffered and died for its guarantee and for all of our freedoms.
Well. . .IMHO. . .these people first know the importance of the 'hand that rocks the cradle' in a manner of speaking. ..(Yes, the Libs succeeded in getting 'Mother out of the house'. . .and now; many kids spend more tim in school that they do at home. And so it goes. . . and grows. . .)
Secondly, these people consider themselves 'world architects'. . .they are 'creationists' . . .They go into Education because they are closet zealots - if even in denial. They want to refashion the world in their image and claim future minds as their own. . .They are 'missionaries' of a different order. And their Church is any hallowed hall of Education. . .
Do appreciate, 'Powerline' - and Scott, et al . . .but yes, this is really a powerful statement. . .worth sharing. (I can think of a few mailboxes I would like to attach it to, as well. . .and maybe just leave on the table at Starbucks, lol. . .)
You can clearly tell from his hair cut that there are no homosexuals in Iran.
LOL.Love the tagline

They don’t advertise themselves as Greek, usually, but they have been a phenomenon around here since the fifties. They have a few Greek specialties but mostly have a big menu of American diner food.
Notice how Columbia has their name blacked out on the podiums. They’re so proud of their name, that’s why they don’t want it photographed next to Ahkmendaj-who-the-hell-cares. As stupid as those jackals are, they’re smart enough to know that if they didn’t black it out, it would be on every blog and protest sign for 100 years.
Its too bad that the leadership of Columbia University hasnt learned the lesson...[that] America honors freedom of expression by being a refuge for the oppressed, not by giving a soapbox to the oppressors. Newt Gingrich
Excellent.....thanks for sharing the quote.
bump for later
very well said.
