Anyone know where I can find an audio or video stream of Ahmadinejad's appearance at columbia? Blan on blogging it I can find one.
Nah, there will be plenty of shots fired from my neck of the woods if the islamonuts come calling. :-}
Pat,
You can stop the delusional nonsense now, you're well past the age where you might have to lace up the boots and pull on the ruck.
My "bias" is that the only way we are going to win the WOT is regime change in Iran. Ahmadinejad is just a figurehead. The country is run by the Assembly of Experts and Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who succeeded Khomeini. We [read Carter] made a major mistake in greasing the way for the Shah's removal.
That was my point - just because the truth hurts, does not mean it is an insult. In this country we are free to call feces feces (so to speak) - unlike in Iran. Bollinger spoke the cold harsh truth - Ahmadinejad spewed comical propaganda. It is not free speech if we are forced to "spin nice"
I have no problem with the truth. I just believe it was counterproductive given the cirmcumstances. It just compounded the mistake of inviting him in the first place.
Wait a minute - if it is the truth, it is not a "gratuitous" insult" - you can't have it both ways. Your wording makes you sound like an Ahmadinejad cheerleader. Speaking the truth is not an insult. Did you want Bollinger to lie and claim this clown is "man of peace and freedom" - just to make nice???
You need to look up the word gratuitous. The insults were not necessary except for Bollinger to cover his butt and not turn off alumni contributions and government grants.
Maybe you feel that way and maybe hate-America-firsters will agree - but I doubt many others will agree with you. His comical propaganda trumps the "truth is an insult" angle.
There were plenty of hate-America-firsters in the audience and elsewhere, e.g, the recent ANSWER sponsored anti-war demonstrations in DC. As I mentioned, the only real gaff that Ahmadinejad made was his remark about homosexuals. Hopefully, that will prove to be the focus of the MSM.
They are still ticked that their guy Saddam is gone and unable to kill more Israeli children, eventually forcing Israel out.
Now they are worried that the US will take out the nutjob in Iran, one of their last hopes.
Pat was quite pleased with Iran’s nut today, said he did a good job, and was very articulate.
So.. Where will the gay rights lobby come down here? Will they come rushing to defend their gay brothers and sisters in Iran.....or will they continue to stand with the Democrats and choose to ignore Iran and Mahmoody...
Duncan Hunter is on Fox saying he’ll “Initiate legislation to cut off federal funds to Columbia.”
I don't get your hysterics.
Given:
(1) Iran is actively involved in a surreptitious war with our troops in Iraq.
(2)Bush has claimed that #1 is true, in public.
But yet at this point, we are not at war with Iran....which should be your primary concern....not a stupid speech.
Instead, you guys...like Bush...are concerned about nuances and propaganda and catchy names.
Obviously, we don't have enough to go on to go to war against this nutjob yet. And if we had enough to condemn him enough to keep him out of the country, then we'd have enough to go after him militarily.
Calm down, sweetie. I wasn’t replying to you.
And how dumb can you be, equating me with a lib? No wonder you like PeeBS.
I’ve seen plenty of it, plenty....of it.
My guess, absent a new attack, is that Bushophobia trumps the purging of homosexuals in Iran. No change here, the Persian Pimp goes up a few points in the eyes of the islamonuts.
Thank God for Duncan Hunter.
The problem is that Bush is not concerned about nuances and never has been - he doesn’t know how to use public opinion. Ahmanutjob obviously does. If Bush were stronger in public, this guy wouldn’t dare to keep on not only with his taunting, but with his actual evil deeds - killing our troops in a country that is not his, for example.
That's surprising, he's been supportive of Iran's "moral stance" in the past. In the past he's even borrowed Putin's depiction of America, 'Comrade Wolf' and the mullahs, Patrick Buchanan . The US is, of course, Comrade Wolf.
Do you have a link to his comments?
You might get a kick out of the link in post 627. Basicly the Paul supporters saw some good things there as well.
I guess from that perspective (in the propaganda-controlled parts of the Middle East), Ahmadinejad will be the winner - but that would have been true even if Ahmadinejad took off his clothes, put his hand under his armpit, and made farting noises.
I can see them It could be your computer. It happens sometimes
Well, that’s true - I’m not a great shooter, but if things keep getting bad, I’m off to buy myself just the tiniest little revolver (best thing for people who don’t have very strong hands) and head off to the range for lessons.
I see what happened. Those photo links are broken on her site too; they’ll come back up when hers come back up.
:-)
I did not equate you with a lib...I simply stated that making a judgement of something without being informed is what libs do....and explained it...and just an FYI ...I dont watch PBS...I watched last night to see the series and personally am glad I did. See to make a statement about the show otherwise would be disengenuous of me.
Believe it or not, I’ve seen comments from some of them saying it was obvious by his body language that he was joking when he made the comment.
