Ron Paul = Hillary on the War; Rudy Giuliani = Hillary on abortion, gay rights, gun control, illegal aliens, etc. Neither are conservative. Neither are Republican. I would no more vote for the "Republican antiwar candidate" Ron Paul or the "Republican pro-choice candidate" Rudy Giuliani than I would the treasonous butcher Hillary Klintoon.
JMHO.
LOL!
“Anyone who votes for Rudy is voting to set conservatism back 30 years.”
B U M P Rudy would decimate the conservative movement!
Rudy to the trash can !!
Good tagline too!
You must of hit a nerve, a half dozen leftwingnut/kook forums have reproduced this thread complete with links back to FR....(chuckle)
If that is true, then I hope all of them get my message.
Yes, they are that stupid. Especially after several bags of free pot!
And RuPaul is all about free pot!
Given that he sees fit to all but ignore all issues not related to Iraq and the WOT (including the "civil liberties" of terrorists) in his campaign, I'm loathe to associate myself in any way with Ron Paul. He fails to understand (or, at best, fails to understand the magnitude of the threat) that the federal government is not the only agent capable of denying Americans their lives and liberty.
What a waste.
Its true, when FR was down for an hour yesterday I ‘looked around’.
I’m not sure which was more amusing, the sites ranting about FR in general, or the site where the hostess likes to claim she doesn’t like, or engage in, ‘forum wars’.
Her site in particular features weekly, sometimes daily ‘bash FR’ threads.
You're exactly where I am on Paul. I'd like to see a lot of his stands on small Constitutional government given serious consideration and adopted by the Republican Party as a whole, but his views on our war on "terror" (translation: radical Islam's war on the West) are a total deal-breaker for me. I can't support a guy who is not only weak on the Islamic threat, but is accepting kudos and support from radical leftist anti-American organizations like the Pinkos, and also from kooks like Troofers.
Great post, JimRob.

Mind if I steal this for my new tagline? It really does sum Paul up perfectly, and how I feel about him and his anti-war stand.

Reminds me of a line a business buddy used, whenever we faced a situation that was almost entirely favorable, but had one outstanding defect. He'd stand up and say, "Hey this is a great party, but who put the turd in the punchbowl?!?"
Same basic idea...
bump
I’m not a Ron Paul hater, but when something is funny it’s funny.
“The Paulbearer Moonbattery Factor for this Thread HAS BEEN ELEVATED to
BLACK CHERRY”
That is just laugh out loud funny.
Yet he's the only GOP candidate whose foreign policy ideas are different than the Democratic candidates' foreign policy ideas (their hypocrisy notwithstanding), and identical to the foreign policy ideas of John Quincy Adams, Robert Taft, Richard Weaver, Russell Kirk, and James Madison. How, pray tell, does this make him a "leftist" in the area of foreign policy???
Jim, if there is a "war against Islamofascism" going on, can you tell me where it's raging? Can you tell me what the H*** our government is doing in the Balkans and Iraq, if they are supposedly waging war on Islamofascism? Can you explain their actions regarding immigration, and the unprecedented public praise of Islam, if there is a war on Islamofascism going on?
The only wars I see being waged with our blood and treasure, and at the expense of coutnless innocent civilians, is for pimps and drug traffickers, on behalf of radical Muslim groups (including Al Queda itself, in the case of the Balkans), and against our liberties (I guess if they hate us for our freedoms we'll just be less free so they won't hate us so much?), and FOR MULTICULTURAL FASCISM.
When they get done, where will there be a place safe on earth from the Multicultural Fascism of the NeoCons? Where can someone that is a true conservative raise his children, where he can teach them the truth about culture and history, and about what America was supposed to be, before Lincoln, Roosevelt, Wilson, FDR, LBJ, Clinton, and Bush chipped away at it until there was nothing left but an ugly, godless empire?
Thanks for letting me post - and thanks for reading...
What is the limits of dissent you are willing to tolerate? Some clarification would be helpful. Thank you.
> Interesting. I suppose you would then support full rights for the suspects in Guantanamo, then? Or are they God-given only to American citizens? ... Oops, not even American citizens who are suspected terrorists.... Oops, not even American citizens who want to buy political ads within 30 days of an election, according to Fred Thompson. Guess the government can rescind them, which means the government allows you to have rights.
I'm just stating a basic premise of the U.S. Constitution (with basis also in the Declaration of Independence). The rights granted by God are to all people. The U.S. Constitution guarantees those rights (by way of the Bill of Rights, etc.) to law-abiding American citizens.
Obviously, law-breakers (terrorists, suspects in serious crimes) may forfeit some or all of their ability to exercise those rights, in that the government may not guarantee those rights to those individuals.
The key point is just that anything the government grants, it can also take away. So the Founders were quite clear that the role of government was not to grant the rights, but to guarantee those rights.
Different people may phrase this distinction differently, but the idea that rights are granted by God is fundamental to the American concept of freedom. "Endowed by their Creator with..." and so forth.
It will be a shame if you squander your historic opportunity to support an actual patriot.
Yeah, the Republican leadership tried replacing him with a liberal Democrat before, kind of like they finally got rid of Bob Barr of Georgia - but there are some fine folks in that district in TX, and so far all neocon/liberal collusion to get rid of him has failed.
Thanks in part to homeschooling breaking the lock on our thinking through the government indoctrination camps, there are more young people rising up with an understanding of the ideas of our Founders, and a knowledge of the truth of history and current events, and when Ron Paul finally dies, or is finally destroyed by his enemies, more will replace him.
By the way, how can you say that the foreign policy of Ron Paul = the foreign policy of Hillary Clinton, when Clinton doesn't have a foreign policy other than give all power to the UN, stay in Iraq indefinitely but whine about it, and bomb Iran? What little policy is evident there is the exact opposite of Ron Paul's foreign policy, but awful close to the policy of the rest of the GOP candidates.
