Israelis seized nuclear material in Syrian raid

Israeli commandos seized nuclear material of North Korean origin during a daring raid on a secret military site in Syria before Israel bombed it this month, according to informed sources in Washington and Jerusalem.

The attack was launched with American approval on September 6 after Washington was shown evidence the material was nuclear related, the well-placed sources say.

They confirmed that samples taken from Syria for testing had been identified as North Korean. This raised fears that Syria might have joined North Korea and Iran in seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.

Israeli special forces had been gathering intelligence for several months in Syria, according to Israeli sources. They located the nuclear material at a compound near Dayr az-Zwar in the north.

Evidence that North Korean personnel were at the site is said to have been shared with President George W Bush over the summer. A senior American source said the administration sought proof of nuclear-related activities before giving the attack its blessing.

Diplomats in North Korea and China believe a number of North Koreans were killed in the strike, based on reports reaching Asian governments about conversations between Chinese and North Korean officials.

Syrian officials flew to Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, last week, reinforcing the view that the two nations were coordinating their response.

You don’t get it.

We will never leave. There will always be an air base there to dominate the area. After eliminating Saddam, the task is to develop and protect stability in the Gulf.

This secondary task has been part of the plan since the beginning. The fruit basket turnover is designed to troow out all the old tired worthless elements of the status quo and replace them with completely new set of facts and conditions.

I am ex AF (long time ago) and am not up to speed on which branch is doing most of the fighting when it comes to using the aircraft we have. My sense is it would be the Navy because using our carrier groups effectively brings an airbase to wherever we want one. Also, landing a fighter on a pitching and rolling deck is hands down the most difficult thing a pilot will ever have to do. This probably adds to the belief the Navy has the best pilots.

However, there is no doubt that the AF pilots are far better looking and according to women scrupulously surveyed, much more generously endowed.

At least we are now getting more reporting on this issue. All fingers point to NK involvement.

Share your sentiment but this is a nuclear signature. The same doesn’t go for WMD of the type Saddam had.

If you want to drive a moonbat crazy when they start ranting, just ask, “So where did Saddam’s WMD go?” The whole world knows he had it, the whole world via the UN asked him to verify its removal and destruction. He never did.

So where is it?

You will cut through all the moonbat nonsense with that. And the dinnner party will get very quiet as the moonbat’s head explodes.

When he goes off topic on another topic. Just reload, repeat. Watch frothing at the mouth. Repeat.

Remember that when Libya gave up its nuclear weapons program it was because a shipment was tracked to them. I believe that one was from NK too, but my memory could be wrong.

They can rest under the tree and not worry, since they are on God’s side and their enemies are not. You don’t have to believe the Bible to see this, but disbelief changes no facts... or history.

do you think that when God’s word says our arrows will be directed to the sun he means our nukes? That would certainly prevent the human race from totally destroying his creation. I like to think of God as the supreme geek, he would hack our systems instantly, as he is pure energy, and quantum particles are of his making as well.

Troublesome, but nothing new or surprising. NK is a puppet of the ChiComs. The ChiComs use them as sort of a good-cop, bad-cop ace card. NK doesn’t do anything without the ChiComs permission. The two are one.

Syria wants nukes on standby in case Israel decides it is part of the "return address" - just like Iran does. The ship that docked in Syria made two prior stops - Egypt (the way to Gaza) and Lebanon. But Israel knows all about it, and if either proxy attacks it, all of them are going to be on the retaliation target list. Bank on it.

Let's not forget what started the whole Iran thing. I believe that processed plutonium was found on a lathe that supposedly came from Pakistan via AQ Kahn, thus leading the Iranians to fess up to a 30 yr. clandestine program. They are openly processing uranium but the plutonium on a lathe makes it appear that they were shaping plutonium for a weapon.

Of course the IAEA took Iran's word for it that the plutonium was on the lathe when they bought it.

I am aware of the connection. You just don’t usually see it stated so matter of factly like that in the MSM. As if there’s nothing to it.

"Our president will do nothing. It’s all he is able to do."

Gee... Bush only overthrew Afghanistan and Iraq. And Bush does not need the support of Congress to bomb Iran. Slick Willy bombed 5 countries without Congressional consent.

That the IAEA gives Iran the benefit of the doubt or takes it at its word speaks volumes as to how effective it is as an organization able to monitor the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

When you have insiders in the pentagon [along with many others throughout DC], as Dr. Wheeler has, then I’ll go along with you. Until then, I’ll stick with Wheeler.
