After the decision, black students at Jena High gathered under the tree in protest.
Fights between blacks and whites broke out for days, and the principal ultimately called an assembly in which Dist. Atty. Walters, flanked by armed police, addressed the school.
"With a stroke of my pen, I can make your lives disappear," Walters said. In a court hearing where an attorney tried to have Walters removed from the beating case on grounds that he was biased, Walters, who is white, admitted making the statement. But he denied that he had been looking at black students when he said it, as some have said he had been.
Just before the incident that resulted in stiff charges for the Jena Six, white youngsters had attacked one of the six black boys, Robert Bailey, 17, striking him with beer bottles as he tried to enter a party. Only one of the attackers was charged -- with simple battery.
The next day, a white man who had been at the party brandished a shotgun during an altercation with Bailey and several other black boys.
He was not charged, but the boys, who wrestled the gun away from him, were charged with stealing it.

I would add that there are other racist groups alive and well throughout this land, not just the South. It's popular to bash us, but it just ain't the case that we're the only racists around. /Rant off.
As an aside, I abhor racism of any kind. It's rediculous. I am, however, a culturist and promote the Western ideal with zeal. At the same token, there are cultures that I cannot agree with and don't think should be allowed to take root here.

Interesting how nooses are considered intimidation but 10,000 angry outsiders descending on a small, quiet town demanding criminals be released is NOT intimidation?

If someone unloads a pistol aimed at your child and misses, causing the child no injuries at all, what crime should the shooter be charged with?
The reason I am bringing up what I did is that from the black perspective, some blacks may feel justified.
I am not defending them, just rying to bring up that side. There appears to be anger in South Louisiana over what happened as those the WHITE GUYS were not imprisoned but the BLACK GUYS were.
Reporting from the LA Times does not help the matter.
I remember some of the facts from the May, 2007 article in the Baltimore Sun.
It is just that this is a festering situation that some liberals and others will use to JUSTIFY criminal acts.
I am not siding with them so much as trying to show their mentality (as stupid as it may be).
Notice that the core issue (the black students actions against ) are not addressed - just the outrage that more whites were not charged.

The problem with the propaganda is that the truth is glaringly left out. I’ve linked the true time line from the local paper both here and in another thread.
The fact is that the beating of Justin Barker by the Six Thugs had NOTHING to do with all of the other incidents. Justin had nothing to do with any of those other incidents either. These six kids have a multitude of convictions for violent acts going back since one of them was 10 years old.
So?.....Why on earth would ANY parent ( black or white) continue to send their child to such and evidently DANGEROUS place??????? !!!
I conclude that the parents of Jena ( both white and black ) are brain dead! Either that or they have been sooooo indoctrinated by the government school establishment, in their own childhoods, that they now lack all judgment and common sense. They are utterly incapablable of imagining a situation where their own children might survive and thrive WITHOUT the local government school cesspool.
These parents are like government school trained lemmings willing to march their children over the cliff of racial violence.

Unreported is the fact that government schools are THE MOST racially and economically segregated institutions in America! There is nothing of this magnitude and extent anywhere else in our society.
Studies have repeatedly shown that private schools are not only more integrated, but that once in the school, the children are far, far more likely to be socially integrated. This is evidenced by the friends that the students report having, and by racial mixing seen in places such as the lunchroom.
Our government schools are Marxist indoctrination camps that preach racial, sexual, and class conflict. Well,,,,if students get daily doses of this, is it any wonder they are segregated and hostile? Besides this, the fact that parents must buy or rent in order to attend a government school ( usually) contributes to the government sponsored ( and paid for) racial and economic segregation and indoctrination.
That is exactly what was said in the Duke lacrosse case. Even if they didn't do anything it's payback for centuries of injustice. Has anybody noticed, our system of trial by jury is seriously compromised.

The NAACP of North Carolina printed out-and-out lies on its website for a full year after the Duke kids were deemed innocent.
A New Black Panther made death threats toward one of the lacrosse players in a courtroom and the judge heard and did nothing.
Had the races been reversed there would have been outrage and the justice department would have stepped in. There are two standards now for judging behavior.

I think that is a NO BRAINER. In the case of Katrina, there was little warning -- maybe 48 hours. It was the government's decision to provide busing.
In this case, the date was known in advance about this decision...
So if you wonder why for a natural disaster people are not as prepared as they could be (thanks to the Governor and FEMA) -- versus an organized Civil Rights demonstration -- I think you get the picture...
For example, there was a story this morning that a car was seen in the Alexandria area with a bumper sticker of a Hanging Noose. The car was pulled over and the occupants arrested -- according to the story -- because of guns found in the car.
Stories like this one is putting people on edge. I am trying to ascertain the truth, and try to get both sides to calm down.
Justice needs to be served -- and it may be that justice may be served late for OJ Simpson.
But even that going on at this time is a problem because there is talk that this was a set up.
MY KEY POINT IS TO TRY TO FIND OUT THE FACTS, AND TRY TO MAKE SURE THE FACTS ARE BEING TOLD TO PEOPLE AND THAT PEOPLE WILL KEEP THE PEACE.
This is the same problem as we are having in Iraq -- just different. In other words, trying to promote peace, and end bigotry. Bigotry is one problem we have as a major problem in Iraq -- there are Arabs and Muslims that hate the US/Westerners with a passion, and are trying to FUEL the seeds of hate in Iraq so more people will be killed.
Same problem -- just different part of the world.
One other thing -- I live in Louisiana... So that makes it a little more personal...
