My town bought 107,000 NV acres from the BLM just outside Las Vegas for $12/acre. We signed a covenant that it would be used for recreation, energy production and turtles. Not for sale to private developers.

Just wondering how many AP stories begin with: "A liberal group said Tuesday it is suing....." since liberal groups do more of that sort of thing there must be thousands of references throughout their archives.

Is this the same land for which Reid and his sons negotiated a trade with the BLM for worthless land further from Las Vegas? And is this parcel served by the bridge Reid added to a spending bill?

I’d like to know how a town gets $12 an acre blm land when an acre sells for $600,000 plus in the Valley.
