AN assistant US attorney from Florida has been arrested for allegedly flying to Michigan to have sex with a five-year-old girl.
John D.R. Atchison, 53, was arrested after he participated in internet conversatons with a detective posing as a mother who was interested in letting men have sex with her young daughter, Associated Press reported.
According to court documents, Atchison initiated the online chat on August 29. His correspondence with the detective lasted several weeks.
At one point, Atchison allegedly said: "I'm always gentle and loving; not to worry; no damage ever; no rough stuff ever ever".
He has been charged with using interstate communication to entice a minor to have sexual contact, and travelling across state lines with the intent of engaging in illicit sexual contact. If convicted of both charges, he faces up to 40 years in prison, Associated Press reported.

ZabaSearch turns up a John R Atchison in Gulf Breeze born in August 1954.
“There seems to be a predisposition here that in Thailand such things are culturally or socially acceptable. I got news for you. There are not.”
I don’t believe selling children for sex is
socially accepted in Thailand (or SE Asia in general), or anywhere else, but they are known for having a
child-sex industry.
Yeah, I hate guilt by association; but I’ll admit to some involuntary (and inappropriate) disappointment, a sort of schadenfreude interuptus.
I hope you don't mind.... >>ahem<<...
“deeply saddened’
I can’t decide whether to title my next book (the one about how mourning has replaced resolve, yellow ribbons replaced battle flags, and sadness replaced outrage), The Death of Outrage or From Victims to Wimps to Slaves.
Evil and not to mention STUPID. Don't these creeps read the papers or look at the on line news? There are probably 50 on-line law enforcement stings trolling for creeps for each "legitimate" ho that wants to sell her kid. These guys would be better off moving to MA. Any group of people that repeatedly elects Barney Frank to Kongress has got to have a lot of sexual deviants in the voting population.
oh-oh, just read the rest of the posts... :-(
My bad.
AAahhh, they’re deeply saddened. They must all be democrats.
One of those fundamental FR lessons: It always pays to read the entire thread before posting.
Maybe he wasn’t born in Florida.
and the moral high ground making you think we dont began when?
I'll get zapped for a personal attack - but thats a stupid comment
Sorry, Hilldabeast’s AG will be our lesbo governor in Arizona.
LOL look at the post 4 seconds after yours ...
BZZZT....
wrong answer
I didn’t know it, that’s why I asked. I just assumed it because, if he’d been a Republican, it’s likely that would have been in the first line of the story.

The 1957 date would make him 49, the article states he is 53. Ergo Pensacola John Dave R is not our man.
1954 birth date would make him 53, ergo John R **MAY** be our man.
Surely I missed it. But ususally you can at least find a C.V. or
“appointment”/”hired”/”promotion” article on a lawyer of this type.
Maybe he’s just a low-key, non-partisan pedophile.
Regardless of his party affiliation (or lack thereof), if he’s convincingly
convicted...he’ll probably not be long for this world...if in the general
prison population.
Here’a a few links I dredged up...

Guess not. It appears he goes by J.D. Roy Atchison. I can't find much on this guy prior to his current infamy. Here's where he helped the National Park Service skate past a personal injury claim back in 1996.
