I don’t believe selling children for sex is
socially accepted in Thailand (or SE Asia in general), or anywhere else, but they are known for having a
child-sex industry.
Apparently, as evidenced by this thread, the United States also has a child-sex industry.
Evidently there is a child-sex industry here in the States. How is SEA different?
