AN assistant US attorney from Florida has been arrested for allegedly flying to Michigan to have sex with a five-year-old girl.

John D.R. Atchison, 53, was arrested after he participated in internet conversatons with a detective posing as a mother who was interested in letting men have sex with her young daughter, Associated Press reported.

According to court documents, Atchison initiated the online chat on August 29. His correspondence with the detective lasted several weeks.

At one point, Atchison allegedly said: "I'm always gentle and loving; not to worry; no damage ever; no rough stuff ever ever".

He has been charged with using interstate communication to entice a minor to have sexual contact, and travelling across state lines with the intent of engaging in illicit sexual contact. If convicted of both charges, he faces up to 40 years in prison, Associated Press reported.

I’m curious who you buy your Florida voter registration records from since, according to the Sarasota County (FL) Supervisor of Elections website:

“In Florida, voter registration records are open to the public and may be examined, but not duplicated or sold commercially by anyone. When there are official requests for lists of registered voters, the supervisor of elections has 15 days to respond. These requests may only be made by government agencies, candidates, registered political committees, registered political committees of continuous existence, political parties, and incumbent officeholders.
Note: No person who acquires such a list, shall use any information contained therein for purposes which are not related to elections, political or governmental activities, voter registration, or law enforcement. (see section 98.095 Florida Statutes)”

You are either lying or admitting to illegal activity. Which is it?

I went to the Tallahassee area papers and searched for old news stories about him and he is a democrat.

He is a registered Republican. That is a fact. It is not a debatable point.

I looked it up. A number of commercial information brokers have Florida voter registration data. I used publicdata.com.

What difference does it make if he is a Democrat or Republican?

Suppose, he is a Democrat, would it be fair to associate this sick ____ with all Democrats?

Suppose, he is a Republican, would it be fair to associate this sick ____ with all Republicans?

I did read the entire thread. Nobody posted sources except one guy who claims to buy Florida election records periodically. According to Florida Statute, that is illegal.

The guy is a registered (R) ...

but I wonder why everyone is looking or considering it suspicious that there is no party affiliation mentioned in the article....

An AUSA is a not a political position, elected or appointed. It is a hired position akin to a Civil Service job.... (this guy was hired in the 80’s

mentioning his party affiliation in the article would be akin to mentioning the party affiliation of a DMV employee who robbed a Dunkin Donuts, or a guy who works for sewage Treatment that gets pulled over for DWI... it has no relevancy... there is no media conspiracy here to cover up or hide ... it’s just not relevant...

My most recent letter to the Seattle Times is on their website, letters-to-the editor section for Sept 15th. Mine’s the one titled “Right Back At You.”

I went to the Tallahassee area papers and searched for old news stories about him and he is a democrat. You can do the same. I guess you are just a “professional againster”. My opinion about Freepers doing nothing is well founded and based on the absence of resistance to the Marxist juggernaut that organizes protests and political activism like no body’s business. Conversely, there are the 100 or so Freepers who on occasion show up at anti-anarchist rally’s. Your post proves that you are a classic whiner and complainer and that you bear false witness against this good Freeper. Read my post and tell me where I ranted and/or raved? The truth has stuck in your gullet and reveals that you are likely among those who do nothing. Your puerile name calling reveals who the child is. Go take a nap and try to wake up on the right side this time.

Your rage continues to pour forth as you try to support your self-generated vision of "ass-sitting" and now "classic whining" FReepers who may not do whatever it is you have determined they should do, and who have the temerity to point out that such raving is not the posting pattern of a Conservative FReeper.

If you wanted someone else to help you lift a piece of your furniture, would you explain what you wanted, then ask politely, or would you instead say "Get your ass-sitting", "classic whining" butt over here and help me lift my furniture?

Your approach was wrong, and no matter how much you attack me, it was still wrong.

Hopefully you will realize that, cool down a bit, and provide future posts in a manner which acknowledges that other FR members are members of an online forum who make their own decisions, without needing your directives, rather than use the approach you took in your original post.

From reading your FR page, it is obvious you care a great deal about America and and want to see her enemies dealt with, but there is an old saying "you draw more flies with honey than vinegar".

It is very unlikely that the law against selling public records would ever hold up in court.

Binstence, what did you find in the papers? If he was a 'Rat activist of some sort, that would clearly override the formality of party registration. BTW, I checked opensecrets.org, and neither he nor his wife show up as political donors.

There just isn't very much on this guy prior to his arrest. It appears he was a DOJ hack, contributing substantially more to the national debt than service to justice.

He has a disgusting MySpace page and Yahoo profile.

His wife is a science teacher at the local HS and was named teacher of the year in 2005.

If he is a 47 year old white male in Pensacola there is around an 80% chance that he is a Republican.

However, I am not sure his party affiliation makes a difference. But of course, there may be some people that would want to give him the Death Penalty if he were a Democrat and Probation if he were a Republican and vise versa.
