Mark Steyn : What might have been : Barry Manilow can't smile without Elizabeth Hasselbeck
The Corner : National Review ^ | 09/18/2007 | Mark Steyn

His name was Barry

He was a showboy

But that was thirty years ago

When he used to do the show

Now it's a talkshow

But not for Barry

Still in the suit he used to wear

Faded gel streaks in his hair

He won't return their call

No matter how they crawl

He lost his slot

And he lost his marbles

But he's found Ron Paul

He can't cope-a

Cope-a with Hassel

The toughest chick west of Newcastle

Not like Rosie

Rosie O'Donnell

Barry knows she'll melt

When he brings up steel melt

He can't cope-a

He lost his slot...

Wayne Brady, not Grady. Brady has a nice-guy rep, so I don’t think he’ll want to piss off Manilow fans.

At our household he’s been known as Ferretface since he first hit the music scene.

At our house, he's called "Barely Mannenuf",

Yeah, but I saw Wayne Brady shoot a crack dealer on Chappelle's show.

That was the funniest skit ever!

From Wikipedia:

In the episode, Brady is hired to host the series after Chappelle "quits" the series and later co-stars in a flashback sequence (which parodied the 2001 film Training Day), in which Wayne Brady reveals himself to be a violent, sociopathic pimp who torments Chappelle when the two spend the night together hanging out.

Among the acts of depravity Brady commits is a drive-by shooting, the murder of a police officer, and forcing Chappelle to smoke PCP. One of the most memorable lines from the sketch is Wayne Brady telling a prostitute who worked for him, "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?", "This is not an option nigga, if you do not smoke this then we have a problem." (to Chappelle in reference to the PCP), and, later, "I'm Wayne Brady, bitch!" (after shooting Dave Chappelle in the leg), a reference to Chappelle's Rick James catch phrase, "I'm Rick James, bitch!"

Why are liberal males so easily emasculated?
They really are girly-men.
No REAL MAN will vote for the Hildabeast, only the effeminate ones.

Why do you think he's called Barely Manenof

Well, since he can’t walk, you wouldn’t have much trouble catching up to him. He’s brilliant.

Just watched that TMZ vid of BM performing Copa. The strange part was that his stage moves during the song were stiff, repetitive and amateurish but his brief dance with the showgirl was smooth, fluid, nice to watch.

"... I can't call him a has-been by any stretch of the imagination."

Exactly. Manilow is still very much in the game. And just because I may not care for his material or his political viewpoints, I'm not going to deny that he's a very capable artist, song writer, producer and businessman. I think it's petty for others to do so.

He just misses his old friend and mentor, that distinguished metallurgist, Dr. O’Donnell...

Pat pat pat. You did fine dear. I would think after 24 years of marriage, you’d be EXPERT at flirting! You’d better get busy and flirt with Mrs NCL!

LOL!

I want to tell you, I recently ended 22 years of marriage and right up until the end, I flirted with him. Didn’t do me a bit of good, but I did. Kept me good at it though. and I’m VERY good at it. heeheehee
