DES MOINES, Iowa - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton unveiled Monday a $110 billion-a-year plan to insure every American -- and her second foray into health care reform elicited the same fusillade of criticism as "Hillarycare" did 14 years ago.
.....[snip].......
Clinton would force enrollment of young, healthy people, ages 18 to 30, who often forego insurance because they believe they will never get sick. Clinton said their participation was essential because premiums from healthy patients offset higher costs incurred by older patients.
Clinton adviser Laurie Rubiner said she would leave it to Congress to come up with sanctions for people who failed to comply, but suggested one penalty could be the loss of the standard deduction on their income tax filings......"

Mallory - very long ago - more recently his frozen body was found I believe
Many believe he had made it to the top of Mount Everest and never made it down all the way
Mallory Diane Rodham Clinton
I surprised she never tried that yet
Hillary is in the pocket of the Insurance Companies. So I guess that we can go to jail if we don’t have insurance?
So where is this $110 billion coming from? Oh yeah, straight out of our pockets. And going to illegal immigrants and other people sitting around milking the system. Good idea, Hillary.
I know we talked about that but I think this was even about another person! But I don’t recall and don’t have it saved.
The ol’ “say anything, do anything” involves names too I presume!

Thank you, devolve are you watching?

That’s why Federal Government mandated programs are the worst.
1. There is no escaping them except if you leave the country.
2. Not tailored to the needs of individual states. If a state healthcare program is unattractive you can move to a different state with one that suits your requirements.
3. Costs are more easily hidden.
4. Voter outrage at perpetrators of program spread out a long way from home (DC).
Hillary should lower the standards for Doctors, like just make it a 2yr technical college degree, that would lower cost considerably./s/s
I remember Rush talking about it those years ago. It was ironic that it was reported by a lib female in New Republic, a lib magazine. She was one of the first to read the whole thing. Here's one reference, I'm sure you can find better ones if you search, I'm too lazy tonight, the ballgame's on..... :).
Far from being misleading, many Americans suspected Harry and Louise were all too close to the truth. A major turning point came when Manhattan Institute scholar Elizabeth McCaughey (who might well be the next lieutenant governor of New York) sat down and actually read the text of the reform bill the first lady and Ira Magaziner had proposed. She found restrictions on physician choice, price controls, criminal penalties for bribing a doctor or hospital and much more. Someone else did an analysis and discovered that the words ``penalty,'' ``restrict'' and ``violate'' appeared more times in President Clinton's health-care bill than in his crime bill.

Hillary! is an all-arrogant Control Freak, a Destroyer.
The Republican response to this authoritarian plan ought to be that they back a law exempting any person from participation in any government plan which takes over any current private activity. This adds to our freedoms, not subtracts from them. If government wants to take over something it has to acquire “customers” voluntarily, not under legal threat. Also, note Hillary forces insurance companies to take everyone, corrupt states like NY have this; it makes insurance premiums unaffordable for the average person. This helps her by making private plans fail and gets to the next step; complete government control.
Good point, but she will say Bush would veto it.
I moved into college yesterday and joined the College Republicans club today. They gave out these bags labelled “Survival kit for conservative students stuck on a liberal campus” that contained a flag, mini water gun, ear plugs, and a Hillary Clinton barf bag, that said “Her attempts to fix health care WILL make you sick!”. It was great. And well-timed.
Yep-I was going to say, this is just like Romney’s baby-another reason why he shouldn’t be supported either.
A lot depends on whether or not they’re retired. And if the Clintons get back in-they’re the ones who started the politics of hatred, division, and pure emotion back in the nineties. It has carried on to this day. If they get back in -AGAIN-I fear a civil war of sorts. The country can’t take much more of it.
Hang onto your money!! She's coming to take it away!!
>>Corporations will drop private health care like a hot potato, and the number of people the govt will cover will overwhelm the system.<<
My understanding is that companies with at least 25 employees would be compelled to provide coverage.
>>If this is such a good idea, why doesn’t she introduce legislation NOW to enact it?<<
She does not want the public to know the exact details of the plan until it is too late?
BINGO!
