I had doubts about Sec. Gates at first. I thought he was put in place to get us out. I don’t think that any longer.

He is doing a superb job and is completely credible.

This is the same old tactic the dems/dbm use time and again. Create a lie(the swiftboats lied about kerry—not true by the way)and then repeat it ad-naseum, that’s all this is.

Good grief--Timmy Russert describes "decorated veteran John Kerry" first, and with a tad more emphasis than "decorated veteran John McCain."

Of course, Russert omitted the tenure for each man serving in Vietnam. Three months and rice-in-the-butt versus 5½ years as a POW. No difference worth mention...

What is your take on the payback for these donations, is it more China seeking US secrets or what?

Reliable Sources segment on the moveon slander of General Patraeus:

Panel: David Frum (NRO), An Compton (ABC), Jamie MacIntire (CNN), and huffington (huffpo), and Howie (four liberals, one conservative....do I even need to listen and report?)

Jamie: He said the worst thing Bush said was that life is returning to normal in Iraq, and that doesn’t pass the smell test.

Huffy: The whole situation in Anbar had nothing to do with the surge, so of course, it isn’t a success for america. The surge has not worked in anyway at all.

Frum: All the media reports is bomb this, bomb that, and they do NOT report anything good. TV viewers get the wrong opinion because of unfair/unbalanced reporting by media.

Howie shows Ware (CNN opinionator) trashing the President and pretty much puts Ware up on a pedestal. Huffy says Ware is the BEST, with facts and passion (egads, she is a sicko), and we need more Ware’s reporting from Iraq. Frum says that the media simply does not report the truth and there is real change and its big news about Anbar and that Ware is really a one-sided reporter who refuses to tell truth, but is rather an advocate of defeat.

Compton tells us that President Bush has always said he listens to his Generals and if he didn’t accept Patraeus’s recommendation it would have been shocking (I was surprised by her commentary).

And Kristol, one of the chief critics of the Harriet Miers nomination, thinks that Mukasey is a good pick, on a similar level to Ted Olsen, if not quite as distinguished an individual.

There are plenty of issues where I disagree with Giuliani. However, his quick response demanding equal advertising rates was masterful.

I have’t read all this thread yet .. but I have a question

I could be wrong in my thinking and was wondering if you rememeber anything about it

But that name Moveon.org used .. General Betray Us .. wasn’t that first used at one of the speeches during the Kos Kids convention back in August?

Folks, they didn't even get the 10,000. And most importantly, the AP knows this.

Even CNN is reporting the ANSWER march at no more than 5,000, while they emphasize the "smaller counter protest" was "only" around 1,000.  that probably means both groups were around 2,500.

LOL--Chris Wallace: "John Edwards is perhaps the only man in the United States who did not see the MoveOn.org Petraeus ad."

To paraphrase the wicked witch of the Senate, the idea that the Silky Pony hasn't seen that ad "requires the willing suspension of disbelief".

(I was surprised by her commentary).

#####

I was, too. But I have noticed a slight change for the positive in her daily reports for ABC radio. Perhaps her travel with the President this summer has softened her up a bit.

PS: I have to mute the channel when Arianna speaks.

We don’t get Matthews show here (thankfully). I’m watching the Kerry/McCain debate right now, and McCain is really winning the exchange, imho. I like how McCain laughs at Kerry’s comments...he deserves to be laughed at.

Big time change in the democrat position mentioned by Kerry today: We were never for complete withdrawal. HUH?
