BOGOTA (AFP) - A feckless stick-up man chose the wrong target when he was beaten and hospitalized in an attempted robbery of a karate school in Bucaramanga in northwestern Colombia, police said.
"The man entered the academy with a firearm, but could not intimidate the dozens of students, who fortunately reacted and disarmed him," said Colonel Julio Cesar Santoyo, police commander in the province of Santander.
Police arrived at the scene only to take the would-be robber to hospital for treatment of multiple contusions at the hands of the karate students.
Um.
Dumb.
Never take a gun to a karate fight?
LibWhacker, that remark about dumb wasn’t about your remark! Sorry, just posted to the story and you got in ahead of me.
little fists of fury?
OK:
1. How much money is there in a Karate school?
2. Hard target
How stupid.
This one cracked me up. How dumb could a guy be?
If this crime had occured here in Richmond, the DA would have come after the students. What a crock! Support the Baskin Robbins employee.
Why would anyone rob a karate school? I wouldn’t think they’d have much of anything valuable on hand.
That’s like trying to rob a gun store or a cop bar.

Exactly! I was laughing so hard I was having trouble posting it... trouble getting all the correct information in the little boxes.
Reminds me of the poor bastard in Boston who rammed accidentally rammed his car through a plate glass window into a room (I think at the Boston Bar Association) that was full of lawyers having a meeting.
Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.
Heard a similar story several years ago when a thug tried to carjack a van that was loaded with Karate kids on their way home from a competition. Take a guess who came out on the losing end of that one. Let’s just say, the karate kids didn’t have to thumb a ride home.
It was AWESOME! They beat his a$$.
I understand, no problem... This story has made me way too happy to get mad at anyone!
I seem to recall a posting about some guy who robbed a donut shop ... that was next door to a police station.
I guess the thief really earned his ‘black and blue’ belt. ;-)
