Two Miami-Dade police officers have been injured in a so-called Tactical Operation gone bad in Cutler Bay.
This is currently a developing story that began at SW 281st Street and 143rd Court in Cutler Bay where the two officers were possibly shot, reportedly with an assault rifle.
Other officers may have also been hurt but only with minor injuries.
At least one officer has been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After the shooting, one suspect barricaded himself inside a building at 280th Street and Southwest 143RD Court.
The other suspect took off in a White Honda Accord and began driving on the Turnpike and led police on a short chase before he bailed out at 222nd Street and SW 110th Avenue.
That suspect, described as a chubby white man with long black hair remains on the loose.
Broward County police agencies have been alerted to the shooting of the Miami-Dade Officers.

Well this now looks like some planning went into these events. If she misled the police in telling them his name was Werner, then it means she knew about the stolen ID of the guy in Jacksonville. Also, Labeet had a police record, which would have prevented him from buying the 3 AK-47’s, which probably explains why he stole the ID in the first place.

You're seeing the command staff, school resource officers (SRO), investigative staff, etc..
Command staff has long since, if ever, been the type to go searching for armed criminals.
I use school resource officers as an example (not every SRO mind you) of persons who once went out chasing bad guys on the street, but have since moved into other positions (for various reasons such as having a schedule that fits their teenage kids sports schedule) or detectives who would be arriving to the scene much later and with unmarked cars most likely. They would then take over scene containment for patrol officers who would then form up into search/arrest teams and move out to where they are needed.
Investigative staff would be the detectives who would be there conducting th criminal investigation.
Then there are those who will stand around at the scene because they are unwilling to risk life an limb for even this sort of incident and they exist in every agency. But you can't very well hang out at the Pct in this instance, you've got to at least show up at the scene.
Whiny questions annoys the hell out of the hall monitors here.
I live in Miami Dade. I even teach high school in the inner city, and have for 12 of my 18 years as a teacher. It's not that bad. I'd feel a heckuva lot less safe in Chicago, or Detroit, or New Yawk. For that matter New Orleans makes us look like Kennesaw, GA. So lay off, okay?

No. But is is nice to see a thread posted properly as a breaking news item remain there instead of being shunted off to chat. I have been here over 9 years. I know how to post in the proper categories. I would hope that the Mod Squad also understands what is breaking news and what is chat.
Not true. Cops have better things to do than ticket for a rolling stop as long as you briefly pause. But it's not because of the crime situation. Almost everybody here is a tourist from other places and many from overseas. Different driving styles and all that....
