Two Miami-Dade police officers have been injured in a so-called Tactical Operation gone bad in Cutler Bay.
This is currently a developing story that began at SW 281st Street and 143rd Court in Cutler Bay where the two officers were possibly shot, reportedly with an assault rifle.
Other officers may have also been hurt but only with minor injuries.
At least one officer has been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After the shooting, one suspect barricaded himself inside a building at 280th Street and Southwest 143RD Court.
The other suspect took off in a White Honda Accord and began driving on the Turnpike and led police on a short chase before he bailed out at 222nd Street and SW 110th Avenue.
That suspect, described as a chubby white man with long black hair remains on the loose.
Broward County police agencies have been alerted to the shooting of the Miami-Dade Officers.
This is a developing story so keep checking back here on CBS4.COM for updates
Wehner .. no more. How did THAT happen?? Wehner was 30, 31 .. Beet is 25 ... they look nothing alike, unless they've been sharing IDs.
Kevin Wehner says his ID was stolen.
I gotta stop working and pay attention. Now the guy not only looks different, but he has a different name.
didn’t they say something upthread about searching a dumpster? Did they pull the ID out of a dumpster?
Man, lets hope you guys in FLA will not have to pay for this guys legal defense, and housing.
Wehner supposedly reported his ID lost/stolen yesterday. Apparently he went to the police station today to say he wasn’t the guy they were looking for in this incident.
just speculating, but it sounds like he had the stolen ID and while running away threw the ID in the dumpster to throw them off - and it did.
Yea, things are happening quickly. I’m not at work and I’m still having trouble keeping up. LOL
I’ve skipped a lot of the thread, but I thought they said they were looking for a white guy.

This effectively killed the thread, ending with a total of 36 posts to it. Look at this thread, already over 400 posts and going strong. Either both were breaking news or both were/are "Local News"/Chat. I think my questions are valid and deserve an answer.
Because they always are.
Those who know what is going on/what happened are either DOA, at the hospital in surgery, or involved in the manhunt with a rifle in their hands.
Those who have time to talk are command staff removed from reality and should know better than to talk before knowing the facts, or, people on the street who know diddly.
I could be as simple as someone in the complex called 911 about an unreleated incident and then this happened next door. Citizen then tells the press, "it started as XXXXXXX"
Running around in the hot Florida sun caused him to tan and lose some weight.
Wow!! Police spokeswoman now says they were lied to by a lady in the complex who gave them Wehner’s name and knows LaBeet. She is in custody.
what you are missing is that cops were shot and there was a fugitive on the run. That is the difference.

Maybe tossed it just because it was stolen.
Very important, because...
If somebody stole ID to mislead cops, and popped 4 cops while taking fire himself...and managed to evade capture for better than 4 hours now...and either had a getaway plan or hijacked a ride...
...he’s not your average...wallet thief.
what channel do you have on?
Is he a jail house Muzzie?

Good grief. Throw the book at her!!!!!!!!!! Wonder what was her motive for lying?
