GREENVILLE, S.C. - Republican presidential contender Fred Thompson said Monday that while Osama bin Laden needs to be caught and killed, the terrorist mastermind would get the due process of law.

A Hellfire missile seems like adequate due process for OBL.
Reflexes are slow today.
No way. Torture the heck out of him and get info.
That was quick!
Same as all the others who know Thompson is the only formidable, electable candidate, you can wish in one hand, and crap in the other.
Well, one thing that seperates us from Islamic countries and terrorist IS that we have due process.
Just think if Hillary could get away with not having due process?
So, as much as we hate it, it is probably a good thing to maintain.
That is Fred’s point.
Welcome to FR you reactionary bastard.
And I mean that as a complement.
Excuse me if I'm confused but I thought Bush has been arguing against due process for terrorists since the git-go.
Looks like plain old dave is gone. But not forgotten!
Welcome to FR Dave.
Nice try.
Click.
The ACLU-run federal courts have already ruled that the Gitmo inmates must be treated according to the Geneva convention, despite the fact that they are illegal combatants and do not serve in the army of any signatory to the convention. Thompson should clarify wheter he will treat bin Laden according to the rules of the Geneva Convention.

We’d do it just like we did Saddam.
Have him tried by Afganistan for crimes, then stone him or somesuch.
I thought the reward was dead or alive. If someone wants to take the trouble to bring him in alive, I got no problem with them due’ing the process before hanging him high. A demonstration of justice for a guy who’s got a heavy debt owed to this country. But dead or alive means dead or alive.
You Paulophiles are sooooo transparent.
Sorry LM that was directed at po Dave.
Guys, give me a break. The guy just posted an article and asked a question. Not being a lawyer myself even I was puzzled by this statement until I read the posts.
The man is running for POTUS, and you want him to say that he’s in favor of suspending due process in certain cases. Are you really that ignorant, or are you propagandizing? Either way, anybody who’d WANT a POTUS that agreed to what you’re suggesting is spouting the same “standard leftocrat bilge” you mention.
