Fact #1. Governor Romney opposes deporting illegal immigrants.
(San-Francisco Chronicle 3/17/07)
Fact #2. Governor Romney supports a legal path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
(Lowell Sun 3/30/06)
Fact #3. Governor Romney called the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill "a reasonable proposal".
(Associated Press 3/26/06)
Governor Romney is suffering from what is called "amnesty amnesia". It is a contagious ailment spreading rapidly through the ranks of the Republican presidential candidates.
Watch Romney admit his amnesty agenda:

bump
Fact #5....neither will Ron Paul.....ever.
Neither will Romney or Hucksterbee.
Rest assured, if elected, Romney will get over his “Amnesty Amnesia” in a hurry. It is caused by campaign stress, and the minute the campaign is over, it goes away.
True Tancredo will never be President, which is a good thing, but does he have to spend his time helping the democrats discredit real republican contenders?
That's not a shock to anyone. Libertarians want open borders and mass immigration.
Question: Does that make the information supplied in this release any less factual?
I may not support Tancredo for President, but I do very much appreciate his efforts to keep the illegal alien issue before the public. This information pertains to that topic, and I’m glad it’s been provided for review.
Whatever you think of illegal aliens Tancredo is more interested in demagoguery for his own gain than doing something to make the situation better.
Hes been a pro-life Mormon faking it as a pro-choice friendly. -Romney political consultant Michael Murphy.
So, the question is, on what issues is Romney “faking it” now? Even his own consultant admits that Romney lies just to get elected.
Which means nothing because all four have no chance to beat Fred Thompson or (sadly) Giuliani. But I can at least live guilt-free in not voting for these pro-amnesty frauds.
Whatever you think of illegal aliens Tancredo is more interested in demagoguery for his own gain than doing something to make the situation better.
I think it's pretty obvious why you'd say Tancredo in only interested in "demagoguery", you don't agree with him. You want the borders wide open, am I right? Regardless, "doing something to make the situation better" does not include backing Bush and Kennedy's failed amnesty bill. It's better to do nothing than do something horrible.
Question: Does that make the information supplied in this release any less factual?
That's what I was thinking too.
No
Then why post it?
No problem, but I don’t get the point of dissing Tom on this topic? If you have some information about Romney that makes these reports suspect, please provide it.
We are in the primary season. We are not in the general election season where Tom is in a position to take votes away from the main candidate causing a loss.
Exactly. The man has no core principles, and is not to be trusted.
False. Romney, unlike the other top-tier candidates, he's included in his campaign platform, a provision calling for the IMMEDIATE deportation of all felon illegals and those fraudulently obtaining social services. Like the others, while he supports securing the border, enforcing the law and deporting those identified here as illegals, he understands that we will be unable to deport all the 12 - 20 million illegals given the current cliamte. The majority will leave by attrition due to stiffer fines on employers and denial of social services.
Fact #2. Governor Romney supports a legal path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. (Lowell Sun 3/30/06) No special path. A LEGAL path. No amnesty. No special automatic legality like the Z-visa confers.
Fact #3. Governor Romney called the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill "a reasonable proposal". (Associated Press 3/26/06)
Yes, he agreed with portions of the bill way back when, but opponents conveniently forget that at that time the bill did not contain the egregious and unacceptable Z-visa (which is pure amnesty).
Romney's ACTUAL immigration record and statements NOT taken out of context
It's one thing to support immigration reform in general (or campaign finance reform, in general, for that matter) and something very different to commit to a specific and flawed plan like McCain's which includes the Z-Visa.
The HUGE difference between then and now is the Z-visa. Those who try to use the old interviews against Mitt either do not know what they are talking about, don't understand the consequences of the addition of the Z visa -- or both.
"The Z visa is a deal breaker for many people. I'm not sure the McCain team really gets that yet or they are being extremely disingenuous trying to equate the two knowing that the average voter is too dumb to figure out the difference."
Theres an old rule in Washington that in dealing with any tough issue, half the politicians hope that citizens dont understand it, while the other half fear that people actually do. John Fund
