Cindy Sheehan Arrested Outside Petraeus Hearing

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested Monday in or near the hearing room where General David Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker are testifying on the situation in Iraq, according to the U.S. Capitol Police.

Four anti-war protesters were arrested for disorderly conduct. One of them, who was not named, is being taken to George Washington Hospital “due to complaint of injury” is also charged with assault on a police officer.

According to the information from the Capitol Police, Sheehan and the other three were shouting in a hallway.

You know, in my state, if you get arrested for misdemeanor offenses, on the third offense, they are usually tried as felonies.

Wonder if that is so in DC?

I worry that we no longer deserve these fine men and women who are willing to die for this country.

I really thought that after finishing “Lone Survivor” by Marcus Luttrell. This is the book about the SEALS who battled the Taliban nutzos in Afghanistan. They were worried that if they didn’t let the three goat herders go who found their position they would be imprisioned. They let them go and an hour later were surrounded by 150-200 heavily armed taliban. A very moving book.
