HALL OF FAME #19 THE WEEKEND THREAD T.G.I.F. at the Finest |
Every Thursday at the Finest |
Yes, thanks, (((Meg.))) The heat wave broke this past Tues. evening.
It is still warm midday, and we are blessed with a breeze most of the day.
Saving up for an A/C for next year...:)
Thank you for the ping Meg & for honoring our finest Mayor.
Good to see you Miss Dita....wishing you a lovely week!
Thank you. I love posting his tunes!
He is a very nice FReeper!
I can’t tell you how much the military tributes mean to military families.
We are face so often by negative news and reports elsewhere. It is nice to see that there are still people who appreciate why my husband does.
Thank you.
That’s why we do it, the Military means so much to us we have to help where and when we can.
I defend the Military every day in Western New York. I can’t even begin to tell you the arguments I have gotten in to.
Thank you for your sacrifices and please pass our Heart felt Thanks and Prayers to your husband.
Wow, taking on the lefties in Western New York. You are brave my friend.
I’ll pass the message to Mr. Spotbust.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9, 2007 In the shadow of the Washington Monument and under the watchful eyes of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial, some 10,000 participants gathered at the National Mall here to walk in the third annual America Supports You Freedom Walk.
I remember I went anywhere I could during the heat wave that had A/C...Glad it’s over for you.
This is special, Meg. Wish I could have been there to see it, don’t you?
Indeed I do!

READ: Job 3
The thing I greatly feared has come upon me. Job 3:25
Death, divorce, and disease could be called the three Ds of misery. They slice through life like a tsunami of sorrow, raising doubts and destroying dreams.
Recently, a friend and I agreed that the previous year was one that we both would just as soon forget. Each of us had suffered one of the three.
Our conversation brought Job to mind. In a short period of time, he lost his children, his health, his wealth, and his wifes respect. Jobs distress was so great that he pleaded, May the day perish on which I was born (Job 3:3). Job wanted God to erase not just a year, but all memory of his existence! He had enjoyed years of success and respect. Now, he questioned the purpose of living (3:20).
Job wanted to die and be forgotten, but instead God made sure his name and story would be remembered forever. Rather than give Job what he asked for, God gave future generations what they would needan inside look at the spiritual battle between God and Satan. The result is a God-inspired document about suffering that has comforted countless people.
When what we fear actually happens, we know, thanks to Job, that God can use it for good.
Saturday night I did make it to Akron Airport to be among the several hundred people to welcome home the first Honor Flight Group that flew from Akron to DC so that the WW2 vets could fly free & see thier memorial, among other things for the day. I will be adding the full AAR set of pictures and FReeper Wheelbarrow will be adding his commentary to the Thread I posted last week on the flight
Here you see some of the tired but smiling faces as they enter the reception area at the airport. The plane took off at 8:05 AM & touched down at 9:15 PM to & from Akron. The direct flight was outstanding according to all..The USAirways crew/staff went out of their way to make it an outstanding day. You would not believe the food that was provided for them on this short flight~
Both the flight crews & the piloting teams bid for the honor to fly them to & from DC(two difft crews)
There were men from various cities in the US that made flights this day.About 800 vets were in DC to be at the memorial & meet bob Dole, and the artist who did the sculpting for the monument. The vets pay nothing. All is donated to Honor Flight & extensive volunteering & donations of food(like Arbys) help.
Here is one of many collages that I am working on for the thread & for the Honor Flight people .
Thank you Dolly! What a great after action report.
