I actively support HUNTER AND THOMPSON

Posted on 09/08/2007 9:24:29 PM PDT by Allan S.

I think we need both Thompson and Hunter on the final ticket. It is too early to rule out HUNTER as top of ticket, but presently it looks like THOMPSON in the top spot. These guys should follow Reagan's "Eleventh Commandment" as regards each other. I think I was the first to suggest Hunter run for the presidency, on the F.A.I.R.(Dan Stein Report) Commentaries. I have been bullish for Thompson, whenever he addressed illegal immigration, or addresses a madness like the "Sanctuary City Movement". Let us pray that these two seemingly good conservatives can avoid trashing each other in any ungentlemanly or permanent way. They really need each other, and the nation needs them both. Folks, America is fatally wounded by the Mexican invasion, and drastic political surgery, alone, can save the patient!

What do you FR stalwarts think of these men as a potential pair ? Can they be remembered as a political LEWIS & CLARK "near" equal team in future history?

The Hillary/Obama ticket would best be countered by Fred/Condlezza. (My brother’s opinion, I agree)

Can Hunter carry CA? Not likely, so he won’t be chosen as VP by FDT.

Hunter Thompson will smile from wherever, as he would have for Bush/Cox.

Fred won’t choose her. She is too anti-Israel. He is a huge Israel supporter.

I agree. I’m a bit more drastic in my appraisal of what needs to be done. I’d like to see a Hunter/Bolton Whitehouse.

a madness like the "Sanctuary City Movement".

Come to think of it, Sanctuary is a religious term. The "movement" should be attacked as mixing Church and State. Up yours, ACLU!

Hunter N. Thompson? Isn't he dead?

What's that? Oh...it's Hunter S. Thompson that's dead.

Never mind.

“”What do you FR stalwarts think of these men as a potential pair ?””

============================================================Since this is FR, we would all love exactly that team, except for the tiny Paul and Romney clubs.

Hunter as VP is wasted. He should be Fred’s DefSec.

Why don’t you just admit that you’re a Paulestinian and get it over with?

I think Hunter would make a better Secretary of Defense.
With the exception of Cheney, the VP slot has historically been a very weak position.

I disagree about Condi. We need fresh talent and a clean break from the Bush administration. It’s the only way to break the traditional changing of party hands that happens with the White House after 2 terms.

My concern about Condlezza is the same I have for everyone brought up through the system during the previous long war.

That entire era was all about seeking stasis through compromise with the sword of damocles (MAD) hanging over everything.

Ms Rice may well be a solid, stalwart person fully adjusted to this new war’s reality, but... then again, maybe not.

I have a lot more faith in Mr. Thompson as a politician with some baseline honor, and Mr. Hunter as a warrior with some political ability. Both of these men were also raised up during the decades of compromise and stasis seeking, but both have also given indications of being more fully aware of what we are up against, and what must be done, than others of their generation.

That’s my personal take on the issue at this moment. Not that it’s worth anything to anyone but myself.

All statements of persons demonstrating honor and/or integrity are subject to change as said persons talk their talk and provide more indications of how their minds function, or dont.

Don’t worry. He’s admitted it before, and he’ll admit it again.
