What do you FR stalwarts think of these men as a potential pair ? Can they be remembered as a political LEWIS & CLARK "near" equal team in future history?

The Hillary/Obama ticket would best be countered by Fred/Condlezza. (My brother’s opinion, I agree)

Can Hunter carry CA? Not likely, so he won’t be chosen as VP by FDT.

Hunter Thompson will smile from wherever, as he would have for Bush/Cox.

I agree. I’m a bit more drastic in my appraisal of what needs to be done. I’d like to see a Hunter/Bolton Whitehouse.

a madness like the "Sanctuary City Movement". Come to think of it, Sanctuary is a religious term. The "movement" should be attacked as mixing Church and State. Up yours, ACLU!

Hunter N. Thompson? Isn't he dead?
What's that? Oh...it's Hunter S. Thompson that's dead.
Never mind.

============================================================Since this is FR, we would all love exactly that team, except for the tiny Paul and Romney clubs.

Hunter as VP is wasted. He should be Fred’s DefSec.

I think Hunter would make a better Secretary of Defense.
With the exception of Cheney, the VP slot has historically been a very weak position.
I disagree about Condi. We need fresh talent and a clean break from the Bush administration. It’s the only way to break the traditional changing of party hands that happens with the White House after 2 terms.

In the primaries, my active support goes to Thompson and Obama. Both are electable representatives of their own parties’ ideological and political traditions. For president, as did General US Grant, I believe almost any Republican superior to almost every Democrat. Obama’s vice presidential selection will (be) pale beside him, but Republicans have a bit of a history of choosing trouble. Don’t want another Agnew, don’t want another Cheney.

Some liberal babe on Fox Business Saturday morning, said today that FredT is gonna pick Sen Judd Gregg as his running mate before too long. In order to pacify NH voters. LOL I though it was a crazy thing to say.
Before we talk about who Fred`s running mate will be, he first has to get the nomination. His chances are good, but they would be better if the second tier candidates backed out now. Its time to start waking up to reality. The first primaries/caucuses are less than four months away. And the prime goal is to make sure the liberal Giuliani doesn't get the nomination. With a fractured GOP, Rooty’s chances improve.

Fred would be wise to go with a strong debater with proven exective experience and a dynamic personality that would balance his low key personality. That person would be Mitt Romney.
To: Allan S.
Nope. Hunter brings nothing to the ticket. Thompson would have the conservative vote locked up. So Hunter doesn’t help there. We have no hope of carrying California. So Hunter doesn’t help there. The running mate ought to be someone from Ohio, Florida or Minnesota, where the election will be decided. A second possibility is Colorado, where we have to win but are increasingly weak. But there are not really any decent candidates from Colorado.
To: Allan S.
Yeah and Hunter could deliver California’s 55 Electoral Votes to the GOP. Well, hey, it could happen....well.... never mind.
