I guess some Freepers agree with his stance that Iran can have nuclear weapons because it wants to. Kinda reminds me of John "I would give Iran nuclear materials so they can prove they would use them for peaceful purposes" Kerry.

there are a handful of very persistent FReepers that haven’t seen the light. Hard to imagine that anyone could think he could lead us when he can blame the USA for 9/11 during a debate. Fool.

RP's a libertarian. Was once a member of the LP but decided that if he ever wanted to actually get elected to anything he better join the GOP. ....which he did.

The Paulites are protesting far too much. All of this sound and fury from their postings show that Paul is getting under the skin, big time.

“Ron Paul is to Republicans what Ralph Nader is to Demonrats.”
Totally wrong. Nader “sold” more of the same liberal shiite only worse. He was an anti American skunk. Some of the foaming at the mouth enemy voters liked him and voted for him because he was more liberal than albore and frenchie. Ru Paul on the other hand, is selling an anti American line to pro American voters. He won’t peel off a single vote from our side. He might get a stay rank and file rat, but none of our voters.

Is it even possible that Ron Paul could carry Lake Jackson, TX, in a presidential general election? Well, Texas has sure elected him to Congress plenty of times.

You are wrong,Bush # 1 gave us Bill Clinton,Perot could not have touched him if he had not waggled his finger like Bill Clinton. Also the Republicans had better pull a leader out of the hat or Paul will get my vote. I disagree like heck with him on the war but I disagree with the other Republicans on many things. I do not see a leader in either party and 95 % of Congress are crooks.

You’ve summed up my thoughts on him exactly...and I should be a little more enthusiastic about him since we share the same alma mater (Gettysburg College).

Heh, a name this ex-Chicagoan had long since forgotten.
(Minor point: unlike Hizzoner da Mare, his last name was Daly).

The reason we don’t declare wars anymore is because of “international law.”
Its the UN that puts us in the position of waging war without delcaring it “war” anymore.
Ron Paul believes big government wastes a lot of money and I like that, but this “war” thing is off base.
I get the feeling the libertarian movement in this country has been taken over by the Bush-bashing left.

I think it is because Libertarians and Conservatives share common beliefs, moreso than Libertarians and Liberals.
I think Ron Paul makes a great deal of sense until he starts talking foreign policy. That is when he turns into a wussy-pacifist-cut&run-blame America-Liberal.

I wonder if he will be the guy to run 3rd party in order to elect Hillary? He is awfully anti war to win too many Republican votes. He may siphon off both equally. The Dem males who will not vote for Hillary and the idiot Republicans who think he can actually implement the changes he talks about.
