Of course, no one really knows what the future holds, but Dr. Paul has a clear and consistent record of honesty, both with his constituents and those of us who want to be his constituents. So when he stated categorically that he would NOT run as an independent or as a Libertarian I tend to believe him.
There are a lot of people who sincerely believe he is not what he appears to be and perhaps you’re one of them. I’m not. I think he’s the real deal and as such, the general population is afraid of the changes he might bring, painting over his American colors with broad strokes of Communist red and cowardly yellow.
Sad.
Aww, damn my fat fingers. I meant to put in 3% in.
Is Ron Paul living in there?
I haven't decided that yet. What I have decided is that I will never, ever, vote for the man because of his isolationist beliefs and belief that America is at fault for 9/11.
However, unless this man comes out and candidly rebukes and refutes those who are using his candidacy for their own political agenda, I will very soon be one who sees him as insincere and a fraud.
I just don’t get all drama here on FR about Ron Paul. Let the man have his say and then we’ll see how does when the votes are counted.
Wouldn't you be happier at Daily Kos or over in DUmmieland troll?
Nope, just a little trip to Wal-Mart with some walkin' around money. Wouldn't surprise me if this is exactly how it went down, given the proclivity for RoPaul supporters to do dishonest things .
Did FOX news do the contacting of the polls, or was this one of those on-line polls, or “Call this number to vote for Ron Paul”?
The reason Ron Paul gets ridiculed is because he is ridiculous. I used to admire the guy, but he’s turned into the Republican flip-image of Dennis Kucinich, circa 1996.
I don't get what is so hard to understand about this. The people "at fault" for 9/11 were dead the moment the planes the planes hit their targets. Paul has argued that the terrorist attacks of 9/11 were retaliation for American interventionist foreign policy over the last century. And non-interventionism isn't the same as isolationism. Isolation is the complete and total closing off of your country culturally, technologically, economically to every other nation on earth. Paul has consistently called for free trade and open, friendly relations with other countries.
I highly doubt that people are buying dozens of disposable phones to vote for Paul, but that doesn’t mean that call-in polls are a joke.
I highly doubt that people are buying dozens of disposable phones to vote for Paul, but that doesn’t mean that call-in polls are NOT a joke.
Oops
So you call submitting his pork bills then voting against them honest?
C'mon! You know he only votes against them cause he knows they will pass anyway AND then he can fool the idiots by saying he is against pork and point to his BS votes.
I haven’t seen any substantive rebuttals of Dr. Paul’s positions. Only name calling. Can’t his detractors come up with something else, like a cogent argument?
So, you agree that the American casualties on 9/11, and all other attacks against American interests by Islamic Jihadists within the past century were justified? Is that true? Am I correct in that interpretation? I expect a non-equivocal reply.
In the same vein, I assume you'd then agree that America has no business pursuing their global interests unless done so here on our shores. In other words, economic and social interests must be pursued at home; not elsewhere around the World because such pursuit will be seen as 'intervention'.
And non-interventionism isn't the same as isolationism.
See above. Non-intervention can well be seen as/double for isolationism.
Paul has consistently called for free trade and open, friendly relations with other countries.
Isn't that nice! And what to do when those other countries don't want free trade, open and friendly relations, but want to destroy our way of life and beliefs? What then? Wait until they attack us here with their dirty bombs?
Your reply: "Can you provide proof of that quote?"
How about: "I am just absolutely convinced that the best formula for giving us peace and preserving the American way of life is freedom, limited government, and minding our own business overseas." - http://www.fdrs.org/ron_paul_quotations.html.
I'm sure I can find others
No doubt. :)
“the poll that FoxNews initiated....”
Is that the one where people had to pay to send a text message?
Serious, mature people don’t sit around sending text messages trying to inflate a “poll”.
Paul supporters do...
