Men avenged 'witchcraft' murder 06/09/2007 20:19 - (SA) Johannesburg - Police say three men in the Mpoza municipality in Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape have been arrested on Thursday for the murder of two men who they alleged had used witchcraft to kill their parents. Spokesperson Mduduzi Godlwana said a 79-year-old man had been shot in the stomach and the back and a 31-year-old had been shot once on the neck. "The men, who are brothers, admitted to killing the two and burning down their house," said Godlwana. He said two cartridges of 9mm pistols were found on the scene and they also confiscated an unlicensed firearm allegedly used for the murders. The three brothers are to appear in the Lusikisiki Magistrate's Court soon. |

I guess there is still plenty of room to spread the gospel, no doubt evil and sourcery truly exists, but when one is filled with the Holy Spirit there is no worry of such things.

I just cant figure out why their flag isnt planted on the moon yet...I suppose that one initial hurdle may have been the failure to produce sufficient takeoff thrust with the "magic" goat entrails placed atop the wicker-basket re-entry module.

"He said two cartridges of 9mm pistols were found on the scene and they also confiscated an unlicensed firearm allegedly used for the murders. " Right there's the problem. No way a licensed firearm would've ever thought of killing those two men.

The cell phone was not found. Oh Lawdy, that is just amazing, thank you for posting.
I also recall stories of multiple deaths of people trying to rescue chickens, etc.
I enjoy looking at photos of their animals and some of the scenery there, but I can't say that I've worked up enough enthusiasm to spring for a plane ticket for a vacation there.
I suppose that makes me a 'racist' in the eyes of some.

Only "some" here believe that, and they are rightly pilloried as nutburgers. There are nutburders in any society.

I know a Liberian woman in the United States who forbade her children from answering the home phone because, she said, there was a problem with Nigerian witches in Philadelphia and that if the kids answered the phone the witches would kill them over the wire. For some reason, she didn't seem too worried about cell phone usage. I asked why, if they had that kind of power, they even had to bother using the technology of the phone, but I didn't get any more of an answer than a look and a harrumph meaning, I took it, "What would you about this stuff."
She also claims that in Nigeria the witches drop cursed money and if you pick it up you'll turn into a dog or some other animal. My suggestion that this was a ploy by the witches to increase their likelihood of being able to pick up lost money themselves wasn't kindly received.

I guess the womans lucky the neighbors didnt burn her as a witch.Yes, or stoned to death, another popular leisure activity.
Under sharia law, can women even own a cell phone? Just curious. If she had been in a sharia backwater she might find herself beheaded or flogged to death by the State, in full accordance with the law.
