Maintenance workers investigating a strange smell Wednesday morning discovered a dead man deep in a heating vent at Russian Jack Elementary, according to the Anchorage Police Department.
The body was identified later in the afternoon as Michael Nix, 21, who had been missing since he left his apartment near the school on Aug. 24.
"He said he was going to get something from his car, and he never came back," said his sister, Sasha Loyd.
Nix was living with his girlfriend on East 20th Avenue. He'd been drinking that night, his sister said. An alcohol container was found with the body, said police spokesman Paul Honeman.

I was thinking about posting our correspondence, but have some (easily maleable) personal ethics about making public the contents of (unsolicited) private correspondence, which have prevented me from doing so thus far. I got this FReemail from out of left field, and I had to reply something to the effect of 'WTF are you talking about?,' since it had been 6 1/2 years since I typed out a few off the cuff, smart-a$$ remarks. I suppose if there's interest in seeing the exchange, I could post it for all...perhaps I need to take a LOL Necro-Troll Poll....

Seems odd they would not go into lockdown. They go into lockdown if somebody fires a 22 within a mile of the school.
The body of a 60 year old woman was found drowned in Noyes Slough this week. The water is a foot deep.

I remember the time a burglar died trying to slither down the chimney of a Detroit clothing store. He was there for about six months, with his legs sticking up in the air. The store owners noticed a funny smell, but didn't think much about it until the furnace failed to work come cold weather.
The only thing out of the ordinary was the rooftop, and the guys legs, were visible to one whole side of the Detroit Police Department headquarters.
LOL... When I was a complete n00b I posted something to ol’ Bert thinking he was being humorous. He’d been in the “nerve tonic” obviously and lit into me. LOL!
