Oprah Winfrey may be getting behind Barack Obama's presidential campaign with vigor this year -- she'll raise $3 million for him when she holds a fundraiser at her California estate on Saturday.
It means she'll be wading into the political world as never before. In 2000, she had Al Gore and George Bush for guest appearances. And California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has dropped by her couch....
..........................................
This year, she says, Obama will be the lone presidential candidate to grace her studio. "If everybody knows I'm for Barack it would be really disingenuous of me to be sitting up there interviewing other people as though... pretending to be objective. So I won't be doing anybody because of that, on my show."

Oprah’s a racist.
She never endorsed a candidate until a BLACK one ran.
Now she’s all over him like flies on sh!t.
She’s just admitted the power of “air time”. When the press cover the dem candidates (especially Hillary!) more than any other candidate, they deny they’re giving campaign support.
We know how the MSM operates... it’s just very interesting when they admit it...
I disagree. There’s a difference between having a political preference, as we all do and actively campaigning for someone. In 2000, she wasn’t actively campaigning for anyone and, while she may not have supported Bush, she was very gracious to him. (I wish he had been candid about his DUI in that interview. The election wouldn’t have been as close as it was.) When she is clearly and actively involved in a campaign, it is a different story. I applaud her for being upfront about it. Over all, though, I prefer the Dr. Phil approach. He considers it an abuse of his status to push his own political/religious/social agenda.
I’ve never watched Oprah and have no interest in doing so.
Hussein Obama and Oprah on a couch is not a pretty mental picture.
When growing up, I would look with amazement at the precinct-by-precinct elections results. The precincts -- because they reflected neighborhood housing patterns -- were almost entirely segregated.
The "Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People" used to hand out "voter guides" at black precincts, a trick later learned by the Christian Coalition.
It was a thing of wonder to see those precinct results in the black precincts which would invariably be along the lines of 146 to 2; 210 to 3; 114 to 1, etc. When black candidates started to get elected, you would see the vote reasonably split in the white precincts but always, always nearly unanious in the black precincts.
Jesse Helms referred to this voting behavior as "the block vote," which, of course, was evidence of his racism [sarcasm].
Okay for black people to do racial politics. When white people do it, it is racism. When white people ~notice~ it, it's racism.
I'm noticing Oparah's prejudice. Guess that makes me a racist.
She can only have him on for 1/2 the show since his mamma is white.
Its not as simple as that. Many Blacks support Hillary, maybe more than support Obama.
Blacks do not always support the black candidate.
But they almost always support the liberal one.
I guess Stedman is out?
She had Bubba on her show Tuesday, which is the same as having Hillary on.
Why anyone would support a Muslim for President of this country fries my mind. How soon we forget. There are just some things Oprah is not terribly smart about. Politics is at the top of the list. But not to worry. He isn't electable. There isn't one shred of qualifying qualities within him. He's a nerd. IMHO of course.
PS: I love it that Freepspellcheck doesn't know from Barack or Obama.
LOL! I wish she’d just stick to “helping” us lose weight!
You bet your ass it is as easy as that. I offer as evidence: MICHAEL VICK. How the entire stinking black population of Atlanta went nutts on how he was being beaten down, only because he was a black man. BS. IT is as easy as that.
