Tristan Emmanuel says secularists, like cockroaches, 'seem to thrive on filth'
"I'm sure you've heard the saying: "You'll attract more bees with honey than with vinegar." The adage equates using honey with "being nice." And the point seems to be that if we are "nice" - if we are sweet - then we'll be able to win others over to our way of thinking. It sounds nice. But in a war it is totally useless. And frankly, foolish. Too many free-market traditionalists have tried to advance their agenda with this sappy strategy. The thinking - the unspoken hope of some - is that by being "nice," perhaps we'll gain some respect; and perhaps our opponents - secularists - might even come to see things our way...

Mitt's a manager, a trimmer, a calculator. It works well in finding marginal differences in a spread sheet. He's a modern, financial man. He adapts to his times but isn't a maker of times, lacking vision and mission, save electing Mitt.
Great analysis on Mitt.
Amen to this story. Everytime a republican appearing on a talking head show is given an opportunity to criticize a RAT, they pass it up in favor of being “nice”. RATS on the other hand never miss an opportunity to BASH republicans and in fact go out of their way to do so. I can’t stand these wimpy bow-tie republicans.
I am so tired of FNC poor talking heads. Generally it seems they are weak and useless.
I too cannot stomach the gutless, mealy mouthed Republicans.
It’s as though there is a culture war but only one side is fighting.
That’s why I havent ID’d myself as a Republican since Reagan. It’s impossible for me to identify with their girlish, self castrating behavior.
Fred Thompson, from what I’ve heard from him, may be an antidote. At least he seems to have a pair.
Perhaps they are neither - it's just that they don't really believe in their party's stated platform, and only pay lip service to it every few years to trick those whom they believe to be unsophisticated right-wing yahoos into reelecting them. ;)
“Perhaps they are neither - it’s just that they don’t really believe in their party’s stated platform”
Lack of conviction does tend to quench the “fire in the belly”. We definately need true believers who will play offense and attack the RATS rather than playing defense and rolling over at the first sign of trouble.
I heard someone on Rush yesterday that said the Republican debate looked like a cabinet meeting. He said all the candidates have certain strengths, which would make them great Secretaries of this and that, but none of them have what it takes to be a great President.
Truth be told, we are in good enough shape as a country that all we need is a care-taker President that is strong on the war and won’t raise taxes.
