KING5 TV in Seattle is reporting that Fred Thompson has made the announcement during a taping for tonights' "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno.
Great!
Why ... Leno ???
Worked for the Terminator!
Best way to get to the most people, I guess.
Oh no all the Thompson haters are gonna tell us Thompson is doing it wrong.
Who cares where or how it’s past time to commit....
This is either the best gamesmanship in politics or a missed opportunity....
Time will tell....
Sure, I’ve wanted this months ago.
Well, now the field is officially complete.
Anybody else planning to get into it?
Newt Gingrich?
Maybe Al Gore for the Democrats?
I’m gonna send the guy 100 bux RIGHT NOW!
I’m tired of the same old pandering crap. We need somebody in there who’s got some stones.
Why not Leno?
Politics has always been about getting your message out to the masses. In this current political environment, the more people you can reach, the more your message will be heard. Leno has a big audience.
Go Fred go!
Folks, I'm not elated with he existing GOP field either. But if Thompson can manage a non-campaign no better than this, how the hell are we expecting him to competently battle the most motivated and well-funded Democrat smear machine in our lifetimes?
It's getting pretty late in the game. We need less people consuming money and political oxygen in this primary now, not more.
Yup.
But....but.....but....Ron Paul is the true conservative! He won in Maryland!
Thompson announces candidacy on Leno
4 minutes agoDES MOINES, Iowa - Fred Thompson veteran actor, former Republican senator launched his bid for the presidency Hollywood style. "I'm running for president of the United States," Thompson told Jay Leno in a taped appearance on NBC's "Tonight Show" airing Wednesday.
Fred who ?
</s
If a few hundred thousand people watch, and ten percent of them decide they like this guy, then those people persuade ten voters each, that announcement will have paid off.
Good. Now lets move this election up this friday and be done with this charade.
I am more then jaded but i like Fred and hope he does well. It seems like fox is not for him. I well give him support. I hope he picks a vp to make it clear where he is going.
