The Fallout From Jim Mills' Departure May Really Hurt Thompson
The Campaign Spot/NRO ^ | 5 Sep 2007 | Jim Geraghty

Posted on 09/05/2007 2:19:55 PM PDT by elizabetty

Jim Mills' departure from the Thompson campaign is actually even bigger than it looks. Not that Thompson couldn't function without Mills — he only been in the office for a week, I understand — but the aftershocks are huge.

You're seeing complaints like this, from the innermost of Thompson's inner circle, as told to Fox News:

When Thompson appears on Jay Leno tonight it will mark the campaigns complete repudiation of a new media campaign strategy and announcement plan that the original Fredheads had designed over several months and finalized in August. More resignations of key founding Fredheads are coming. Soon NONE of the people who got the buzz started in March may remain.

Thompson did Leno in June and numerous senior aides said at the time he would "never return to Hollywood to announce — that's what McCain did! We won't use video, that's what Hillary did. We will let Fred be Fred. We are launching from the (Grand Ole) Opry then hitting New Hampshire and Iowa."

Now they are copying both McCain and Hilary by appearing on Leno and a video. The original Fredheads are no longer angry or frustrated; most have been fired already or given up. ~Snip~

That's the point, be different than the rest. The voters would love it.

How about this grammar:

“... it will mark the campaigns complete repudiation...” Guess the writer missed the day Teacher covered possessives and apostrophes.

No kidding. Thanks to the left turning the classroom into nothing but a Bush-bashing arena, this is what you get.

At the very least, FT cannot claim loyalty and judgement are his outstanding characteristics.

As another possibility, perhaps Mills was leaking to his old boss Carl Cameron. If I discovered a traitor in my campaign, I would boot him out so fast he would be back at Fox before he knew it!

They keep recycling the same old attack stories... they just change the names. All people need is a little bit of the truth.

I remember reading those accounts when they took place. Its always interesting to see them in print so many years later.

In the end, Reagan proved his was the right man at the right time. I’m pretty confident when its all said and done, Fred Thompson will turn out to be the right man, at the right time.

Just dang, the man hasn't even announced yet and the vultures are flying...

The fear is tangible.

The fear is that even if Fred isn't "all that he can be", if he can at least pronounce the word "Constitution" without spontaneously combusting he'll always be one step ahead of Clinton.

Hopefully, Fred will go 10% up on Giuliani by the end of the month. Along with raising $10 million for the month.

It all boils down to whether you are a Republician or a Conservative/Libertarian. The elite Repubs including those of the MSM want a liberl Republician. I do not and will not vote for one. They are going to lose big time with a Mayor from NYC. Will not happen. Mitt has the same problem. I will not vote for these liberals. Not me and not alot of others. I will write in my own name or not vote for President. I would rather have a liberal Demo than a liberal Rep. I am not just a party Repub. I have more principles than being power hungry.
