ANNAPOLIS After eleven days of presidential straw poll ballots cast at the Maryland Republican Partys State Fair booth, Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) was announced last night as the winner.
The Maryland Republican Partys first-ever presidential straw poll at the State Fair resulted in nearly 1,000 Marylanders casting a vote for their favorite Republican candidate for president.

In my opinion it's not worth pinging the list to a thread where the ASNB* has already had its circle-jerk. I'm one of the (rare?) ones who actually reads threads in their entirety, and all the rehashed idiocy just hurts. I wonder if there's a way to send the list links directly to relevant news, maybe via private message, when the thread's been ruined before you get a chance to ping the list?
I agree. As the main Pinger on these threads, there are many I wonder why even bother. But then, the trolls win by default then. So we may as well force them to spend their time here on the RP threads, spewing away. And these threads do serve other purposes as well which I won't describe.
It is better to ask for a ping earlier in a thread, rather than later. But I'm not always available, our other pinglist holder even less so. We probably need to have a few more people doing the pinging with the list.

Oh why not, the bigger the party the better the buzz...

Yes the revolutionary war and the “civil war”.
The side that fought for self determination lost the second war.
And a civil war is a fight over who controls the government - we have never had one of those.

I pointed out that Ron Paul voted against it and Thompson voted for it.
And McStain and Bush, campaigning for the 2000 GOP nomination, both supported this evil anti-Christ Xlinton policy.
Helping evil Dims persecute Christians by helping genocidal narcoterrorist Muslims will not go forever unpunished. God will repay.

But then, the trolls win by default thenMethinks you have things a bit reversed. Last I checked, anti-war Paulites are the ones not welcome on FR. So just who are the trolls on these threads?

The side that fought for self determination lost the second war.Self-determination for the "right" to hold slaves. Gee, do you think that might just be why they lost? The inherent contradition in such an action? Self-determination for me but not for that slave over there?

Dr. Paul knows that the appropriation is going to pass - and he knows that tax payers in his district are going to foot some of the bill. I completely support how he plays a no win situation. Then, you support deception. Look, I'm not saying that Ron Paul shouldn't vote against the initial bill, then against the final bill out of committee. That's up to him. If he truly wants the earmarks for his district, then vote for both. What I'm saying is, his vote for then vote against is disingenuous. He's trying to make himself out something he's not. He knows earmarks will go through so he votes for the initial bill, adding his own. Then he votes against when they come out of committee, again knowing the final bill is going to pass. HE KNOWS! He knows the earmarks will pass and he knows he's getting his share of the pie. He ALSO KNOWS he's using the system to make it appear he's against the system. That's a FRAUD in my book. Sorry for being blunt, but it fits.

"Your projection of Antisemitism on Ron Paul supporters says more about you than it does the ones youd like to paint as antisemitic. More slander." Ron Paul frequents the Alex Jones show. The Alex Jones show frequents anti-semites on his show.

Um, I am speechless, however if I close just one eye and bash my head with a mallet, it seems perfectly sane...Hope it didn't hurt. But, yeah, that was the most enlightening statement so far. I think he let slip a lot more than he intended.

The border states didn’t hold slaves and they stayed neutral until Northern troops were sent south to end the secession.
So yes - the side fighting for self determination lost.

You are wrong, however. Hunter, Tancredo, and Huckabee (though they are running even or behind Paul in the polls) has been interviewed endless times...
Nope, I am exactly right and you just proved my point. The gentleman you mentioned ARE NEWSWORTHY.
Ron Paul is laughed at by more people than support him.

“He’s voted for all these earmarks for his constituents, but once he becomes President, he’ll veto every one.”
Ummm, he has not voted for these earmarks. He votes against the appropriations bill which contains the earmarks. It is the appropriations committee that decides the earmarks to be included.

"You threw out the kosovo action."Read the context of my statement.
I was pointing out the differences between police action and self defense.
I agree with over 90% of what RP believes in regarding the gubment's role in our lives.
He just "jumps the shark" by towing the Al Qaida line.

It’s not fraud at all.
If he got 100% of the vote in his district it owuld be one thing - but a stateman needs to listen to his district.
And if the other reps would stand up to his views on constitutionality - so called fraud would be impossible to achieve.

Last I checked, anti-war Paulites are the ones not welcome on FR. So just who are the trolls on these threads?
The mods don't seem to arbitrate that, whatever you might want to believe. We have a long pinglist that the management can see plainly.
JimRob can ask us to leave or pick another candidate if he likes.
He's taken no action with RP supporters in the way he did with the Juliebots. Of course, you don't seem to recognize that among your fellow Paul-haters are more than a few of those Juliebot types. Including membership at the WAnkers forum. It's not hard to find out which ones.
Trolling candidate threads is still trolling. It's not RP specifically though. Virtually every candidate gets thrashed and trashed here at FR any more. I think it really harms our forum and the party in general but that is management's choice. Personally, I thought JimRob alone handled the 2000 election much better than our current group of mods is doing. But that's just my take. A group of mods has a strength that no single mod can overcome. And the job had gotten too big for just JimRob to handle. Still, JimRob did an amazing job back then when the board actually had a lot more posting activity on all the forums.
