Looking to the day he leaves the White House, President Bush says he'll concentrate on making speeches and running an institute that promotes democracy around the world. He also admitted that he cries "a lot" on God's shoulder.

Bush made the revelations to Robert Draper, for his book “Dead Certain,” which will be released on Tuesday.

The left and psyco-anal-ists will have a field day with this one.

I read this earlier on Drudge...

I have to leave George Bush to God...
..God is the judge of us all.

I will tell you....I've cried a good many tears myself since the middle of May, and certainly asked God's help for our nation.

According to the New York Times, Bush told Draper: "His top commander in Iraq, Gen. David H. Petraeus, would perhaps do a better job selling progress to the American people than he could."

That sounds ... lame.

I wish he would cry less on God’s shoulder and listen more to God’s answers.

Maybe there’s nothing wrong with crying in and of itself, but there is something wrong with the US commander in chief talking about doing it frequently.

**He also admitted that he cries “a lot” on God’s shoulder.**

I think they left the most important words off.

__ on God’s shoulder. __

Sounds perfectly normal to me. Really just prayer and intense prayer!

I find this a little disturbing.

Is this legit? I don’t see GW or any member of his family as much of criers.

Bush: I Cry A Lot

I am sure that this was meant figuratively.

I cry a lot too...whenever I see what my Republican party calls ‘connecting to the base’.

You mean you didn’t cry when Clinton was president?

I have no problem at all with this. He carries a giant burden that none of us can imagine and I appreciate that he feels the weight of it. It means he is human and feels the need for God’s help and guidance. I respect W for this.

On the other hand we have Hillary who thinks she is God and then we had Bill who figured he didn’t need anything other than a good time.

Bush Sr. has said he’s a real fire hose in his later years, and recently (couple months back) got pretty choked up when introducing Jeb at some public function.

Exactly right - Reality is, very few can understand the responsibilities and sole burdens this man has faced and dealt with (and done so with resolve, class and seriousness).

That some on here want to take issue with this man over this issue...absolutely haven't the slightest concept of what he has truly dealt with in such a position of leadership.

There are plenty who like to *think* of themselves as "tough"....They don't have an F'ing clue in reality about what being tough is....

I don’t.

In fact, I like it alot better than what we had for the other 8 years!

I don’t necessarily have a problem with a guy tearing up once in a while. I don’t think it’s necessarily a healthy thing for them to do it regularly or frequently.

While I don’t think of it as a problem once in a while, I hardly think of it as manly because it is done frequently.

The presidency does place a terrible burden on the office holder, but breaking down over the issues frequently could just as easily be a symptom of a problem disposition, as that of a ‘real man’.

I’m not as ready to pass this off entirely as you seem to be.

LOL

I think this tid-bit might have been better expressed after Bush left office.
