A Long Island man is suing a West Village bodega for $5 million, claiming the store's cat viciously bit and attacked him while he was perusing the aisles for a late-night snack.
But the storeowner not only denies the attack - he says he doesn't even own a kitty.
-snip
But Andy Singh, the owner of Andy's Deli on Seventh Avenue and Grove Street, said he had never heard about DeSousa's injuries - and had no knowledge of the mysterious cat.
"We don't have a cat," he said. "We've never had a cat."

Clouseau: Does your dog bite?
Inn Keeper: No
Clouseau: Nice Doggy (bends down to pet a dachshund - it snarls and bites him). I thought you said your dog did not bite!
Inn Keeper: That is not my dog!

(Well....just replace dog with cat. :-))

"I don't play with cats. I don't like cats. I'm afraid of cats," he said. Afraid of cats? Okay, I've seen some Siamese cats that could hold their own against dogs, but I had to chuckle at this guy's statement.

Adalberto DeSousa, who is 6-foot-4, claims the injuries from the unprovoked attack landed him in the hospital for a month. A month? You about have to be on death's door to get that long of a stay in a hospital these days. They're pushing you out at the first opportunity.
I'll bet it was a *Hey y'all, watch this* moment he doesn't want to admit to.

I never really LOOKED at the TINAPL graphic until today - and I gotta admit, I like the idea of fiery nuclear death being visited on the Smurfs.

A good cat bite has a tendancy to get an infection so bad the offending part must be removed. The person’s, not the cat’s.
I remember seeing a show once on a woman who got badly bitten on the hand by a desparate kitty, and was told by the vet to go the ER instead of just putting some bacitracin on it at home like her inclination. The ER doctors told her she would have lost her hand if she did that. She needed several surgeries to remove the infection.

My cat was sitting in my lap, and someone scared her right as I lifted my hand in the air. Her claw snagged one of the nerves in my hand. I thought someone had chopped it off. I didn’t regain the feeling in that area of my hand for a couple years.
I respect the Viking Kitties. :)
