Now onto Gonzales. Specter getting in some Bush/Gonzales bashing.
Did you zip by post # 3 without reading it? How about # 16?
Schrum thinks that you can’t vote against a Hate Crimes Bill (a horrid piece of legislation) if you troll for sex in bathrooms.
I am missing the connection.
I flew Spector around Europe once.
The only thing he cares about is his squash racquet.
They guy is obsessed with squash. It is ridiculous.
Compared to him, this Spector makes more sense.
Eleven minutes in and we are still on Larry Craig.
Leahy is such a clymer. Thinks Bush should be a uniter not a devider on the nomination of a new attorney general; in other words, he should pick a liberal.
Spector says pick a professional and says that the President has made some bad decisions on legal issues. Again, Spector showing he thinks that the senate should usurp a lot of the Presidential powers (not his words, but clearly his intent).
Wallace wants Leahy to hold up the nomination until Rove appears before the committee under oath. Leahy pretty much says that is the game plan, and is seeking information on the advise the AG gave the President. Talks about how he needs the information about “torture” and “warrentless wiretaping of americans.”
I’ll end where I started: Leahy is a clymer.
OK, that explains it.
Was in a bit of a rush glancing through the thread at first. Forgive me. :(
I’d be interested in the response of the following question (which would never be asked but needs to be):
“Senator Leahy, should senators who leak sensitive national security information to the press resign? Before you answer, what about senators who take hundreds of thousands of dollars in camapign donations from convicted, fugitive donors? Don’t you agree that those two examples are also double standards? If not, please exlain why.”
The rainy town with the pub in it.
HA!
No, just kidding. I love the UK. I used to take the bus from Mildenhall to Oxford. Loved Oxford.
LOL
And people wonder why we call him a RINO. This type of commentary solidifies that position.
Don't worry! They will get to Hillary's illegal cash crime any minute..............errrrrr.............now................................................
I take it you were stationed at Mildenhall. Lovely part of the country.
Still no word on FNS either. Ed Gillespie is next up, and they’ll be talking about Craig, Gonzales and Iraq.
How many people’s opinions do we need on the same old stories?
Well, Wallace had the two top senators on the judiciary committee and didn’t mention Hsu once. I guess the story will be swept under the rug. I do believe that the DOJ has announced they are investigating Hsu, but it doesn’t seem to make the news. Perhaps later, but more probably, never. Afterall Hsu is a democrat so the media will spike the story and when/if it does come up it will be “old news”.
Specter says Craig has only issued an intent to resign; Craig should resend the intent and fight for his Senate position; that if he took it to court, he could possibly be vindicated.
The bad guys want him to stay right where he is as a target still in place by election time. The last thing they want is a fresh, new taint-free conservative in place as an incumbent.
Spectre wants him to stay for his shamnesty vote. Maybe Clift wants that too as well as the target potential.
