That is why, dear Snugs, he is so often the guest on the Sunday shows. The DBM loves fellows like him. He vindicates their biases.
But Craig didn't admit to any sexual behavior, gay or not. That's part of what's bugging me about the coverage of this and the piling on, particularly by Republicans.
Larry Craig plead guilty to disorderly conduct, which may be an offense but it isnt admitting to cruising for gay sex in a public washroom. At no time has he admitted to being gay or to trying to solicit sex from the gay baiting cop. If you listen to the audio tape of the "interview" by the police he reacts exactly as an innocent person would, IMO and continuous to insist that he didn't do what the cop says and that he wasn't soliciting anything.
He agreed to a plea and a fine for "disorderly conduct" to avoid a public trial and get on with his life. A cop can assert that someone is disorderly and theres not very much a citizen can do to counter that claim. The police are presumed to be truthful 99% of the time in court proceedings involving such charges. Its usually a no win proposition to try to fight that sort of charge.
What I want to know is how did the story get out into the public domain? Who leaked the information and why? This is starting to look more and more like a set up to me. Craig has been targeted by the left, particularly the pink triangle nihilists, for quite some time. Notice how this is repeatedly being tied to his vote against hate crime legislation that set aside special privileges and protections for gays and special punishments for anyone who offends them. Im getting suspicious.
That's why he's on the program.
