It seems everyone missed the part (re: audio), when Craig says “You solicited me” and the officers response.

Craig was set-up. He still has to go, he didn’t fight it and let it lay there. Had he fought it, the gay and sexually adventurous would’ve seen the libs for who they are... but he would still be history.

Yes, Craig needs to go, guilty or not, based simply on his poor judgment in how he’s handled this situation. Simply leaving office isn’t sufficient, for me, if he is guilty.

But I’ve moved past the question of his behavior. I’m concentrating on the who, when and how of this story getting out. In that context I find Ben Stein’s article today very interesting (though not directly on point):

Ben Stein Says Craig Was Lynched Twice

What concerns me and maybe this is just a difference in the legal systems in our countries how come the tapes made in the Police Station came into the public domain is this usual?

And yes she did say the word “propaganda” when talking about normalcy in Iraq. I’m beyond stunned and her choice of terminology.

######

Just be stunned that she is so out of her depth as a “newsperson” that she let slip an underlying truth. All the drive-bys believe that if they repeat what they are told at a government (White House or Pentagon) briefing that they are spreading “propaganda”. It is sad that commentators for “our side” have not publicized this point.

Perhaps Rush or Sean or Mark Levin can play audio of Katie’s words this week.

Exactly at the end of the day it screams lack of judgement which cannot be allowed in someone who holds a public office.

That is the bottom line, if he was leading a double life, in essence, lying to all, he needed to go.
It did not help that he had a history of being “accused”.

Not to mention an investigation into the Idaho Statesman which went beyond harassment.

I just want folks to think about this...

What if he didn’t. These are socialist tactics; It’s about the smear... period.

Craig’s gotta go but they must be exposed.

Why did Gonzo step down (and I have no love for him)?

This was a clear cut separation of powers issue and they gave on it.

(Whatever happened to the leak investigations btw?)

People should compile a list of those who’ve stepped down in the party. We are at war, and the socialists want to play games, move up primaries and skip around the country instead of getting serious with the country’s business.

While spewing propaganda for the enemy.

Definitely one of my open questions.  One possibility is that the Minnesota version of "freedom of information" open government records law, common in this county since Watergate, treats things like this as public documents subject to release on demand.  Court records are public documents and generally available unless specifically ordered sealed by a court.  Perhaps he wasn't bright enough to get the judge to issue such an order?

I think God chose Tony to have cancer for a reason. I love Tony - he is a great guy. I have never met him or spoken to him face to face, but like many of us, I have watched him for years on TV, listened to him on radio, and read his columns in print.

David Gregory is a lost man. He is typical of the atheistic media.

To send a man like Tony Snow in their midst was like sending a lamb to the wolves. But Tony knows how to handle himself with the grace and talent God gave him. God gives each of us a gift. Tony Snow's gifts are manifest.

When Tony used to be a member here on Free Republic, he used to respond in such a friendly and vigorous way. We sparred once about Harriet Miers. He was the better man.

If there was a man I could meet fact to face and tell today that his words changed my heart, it would be his article about dealing with cancer. I shared it with my family. We are going through quite a lot these days. Tony's words were inspirational.

Good article. I believe in my heart of hearts this guy, ImaNutJob, is going to be issued a “wake-up” call in the near future.

Could be wrong, but don’t think so.

What I want to know is how did the story get out into the public domain? Who leaked the information and why? This is starting to look more and more like a set up to me.

#####

Have you (or anyone on this thread) ever heard a public airing of a police interrogation? I cannot remember another instance. This selective use reminds me of the release of Grand Jury testmony in San Francisco, to print media, regarding baseball players and steroid use.

There was no outcry about that infraction of the law and abuse of a citizen’s legal rights, either.

this could be the worst loss for the GOP since 1964 or even 1932!”

The dems will repeat the above statement for the next 14 months. It will be in every ad. IF they lose, they will refuse to believe the vote, because this could must be the worst loss for the GOP since 1964 or even 1932!”

Snugs if I lived within 10 miles of your house I would weigh about 335 lbs, cholesterol about 450, sugar about 700, and no health insurance company would insure me.

And that’s just from the aroma.

That does look yummy, as your meals always do.

:)

I agree with you both. There is a VLWC, and there is sexual solicitation going on in public restrooms. If there is any investigating to be done, it should be into the political, financial and sexual background of the cop who made the arrest and the same for his superiors. Lehey wants both Craig and Witter out of the Senate, one for public sexual solicitation and the other for private paid sex. A contradiction as I see it. Anything to try and keep Republicans on the defensive. The one good thing that could come of this highly publicized Craig situation is that those who indulge in such activities will heed the wake up call and get help or move to non public quarters. The public is entitled to safe public accommodations and it is a shame that people who refuse to exercise self control make it necessary for the public funded police to patrol restrooms. This is also a very good time for Republican leaders to remind all their office holders that they cannot expect leniency or mercy for bad behavior.
