voters were restricted to past delegates and alternates from Texas Republican conventionsNo worries. I'd say he did quite well considering the limitations on who was allowed to vote. I think some need to be very concerned that 16% of party faithful voters voted for Ron Paul. And only two were ahead of him, a protectionist that no one's heard of and a candidate that no one's sure of what he stands for. Didn't see any of the media 'chosen' ahead of Dr. Paul
Perhaps not an outright win but a lot higher than many would like.

You know me and my aversion and distaste for polls, but at least in a straw poll someone has to physically show up and vote. The main thing is that this will perhaps give Hunter much needed media coverage.
Once people know him they are very likely to vote for him. If you want to be the conservative candidate of choice I can’t think of a more conservative state in the union than Texas, sans Austin of course.
I know we heard about Romney and Huckabee in Iowa, surely Texas, the citadel of conservatism, will warrant some media coverage. Of course the perv resigned, so who knows. If he resigned what more is there to say? Well except for don’t wear your ipod into a public restroom and do any foot-tapping.
GO HUNTER!

Lest we forget, Hunter won the AZ straw poll and placed in the first 3 in 2 or 3 others (Calif and?)

I added the keyword for Breaking News on this one. I thought this was a nice win for Duncan, people should see he won it. It's also interesting to see how poorly Romney and the leftwing mayor did. And Ron Paul coming in only a bit behind Fred. Overall, it's an interesting result in a rather constrained straw poll in its first year.
I just thought Duncan deserved a little top billing for his win.
