I highly recommend that you try and find a re-run of this program. It is excellent and there is way too much to be able to post about and follow all that he’s saying.

A questioner who claimed to be a 17 yr veteran of the clandestine service , stated much of what RS said was “true and much was not true.” Posited RS’s “line “ was that CIA had become a “liberal bastion.” (RS later disputed characterization and said it had had become “ a more liberal place.”) Ex-CIA said he estimated 80% CIA employees were conservative Republican and that CIA had “drifted away from WH after 2004 because WH had tried to scapegoat agency for “disastrous Iraq ploicy.” RS reply focused on 1990’s when “100’s” of agents were “forced out the door to save money” and stated that former agents leaving at that time stated they had been replaced by, implication, more liberal.

First questioner had disputed RS on leaks, and stated that agents leaking “were protecting Constitution.” Said Wash Times Arnaud DeBorchgave and Georgianna Geyer had picked up on that aspect also, to refute it was solely liberal agenda. RS stated that as a reporter, he lived by leaks, but these were bad leaks, cited 8 examples earlier in talk, that were intended to smear, particularly regarding Joseph culpability for “keeping 16 words in State of Union.” Also cited 2 investigations , one Robb- Silberman, whether Cheney had “gone to CIA to brow beat” to conform intell to WH stance on WMD,specifically about 2003 NIE claiming WMD , as leak had alleged, and finding no WH attempt to politicize NIE. (Same song this week re: GAO report— my comment). I’d say RS bested his two hostile questioners, who had pretty much exposed their biases.

RS also stated CIA had “cut Porter Goss at knees within six months,” starting first two weeks with leaks to friendly reporters.

“talking about Ray McGovern now”

Guys like McGovern are policy wonks. Their goal is to control policy within an agency, as McGovern tried to do at the CIA. They’re different from the Joe Wilsons, who are more interested in money.

hey, thanks for the post! I will have to track that one down.

RS later disputed characterization and said it had had become “ a more liberal place.”)

Too bad it can’t be a “fact-establishing” place. I guess that would be just too much to ask, right?

RS reply focused on 1990’s when “100’s” of agents were “forced out the door to save money”

Not to save money, to further the goals of the Clinton communist regime.

BTW, have you seen how hillary has let her communism come out of the closet lately? It is almost more that even I expected. Check this..

Nice huh? The Clinton Clan has done more to this nation to try and bring it down that Chavez could imagine in his wildest dreams. And one of those things was destroying the CIA.

to me, he’s like the guy holding the retractor at a craniotomy who decides to dive in and take over the operation because he knows how to do it better than the surgeon. He’s also either a bizarre psychotic or demented. they had him on a local talk show here last fall, and he was betting on Bush bombing Tehran before the election to pull the elction out for the Republicans. Said he had “sources.”
