Enjoy them. I'm working a double shift tomorrow so will be indoors most of the day. But since I have a farmette to tend to, fresh air activities are not something I have to plan for, I do them on a daily basis. In fact, I have planting to do before I leave for my other job.
I suppose he’s never heard of the principle of Federalism.
That principal matters not to the nanny-staters. Nor does the concept of private property.
I just came back from the heart of Public Square in Cleveland, Ohio, the Terminal Tower (walked across the street to get some lunch in there). They have small patios OUTSIDE. I was on the patio with THREE ARMY MEN men in uniform and we were having a cigarette. They sent a Cleveland Police Officer after us. AND IM NOT LYING! Welcome to the great fascist state of Ohio.
I certainly hope that they used the proceeds from cigarette sales taxes to pay for the signs.
See my post #104 above. Be forewarned. Coming to a state near you.
More often than not, lately.
Since reason and forward thinking seem to be foreign concepts to you, would the designation of professional asshole ring a bell?
The stupid, shallow nanny-staters who, a mere generation ago, would have been laughed off the stage now think they have the upper hand.
I have faith in actual Americans being just ornery enough....
I asked the police officer if this is how he wanted to treat our soldiers and then told him to go harass some shoplifters.
I am going to call the State’s “snitch” line on Tuesday to let them know what happened, and I will give them a piece of my mind. I think I’ll call them Nazi’s again. If nothing else, it helps me feel a little better. :-) How’s that for orneriness? :-)
Good for you :-)
Mike Huckabee appears to be a strutting little jackboot on this issue. He needs to be flushed in the primaries.
You are right to move. Your current state is full of morons, apparently.
Poll after poll, vote after vote... show that conservatives support smoking bans. Deal with it. I don’t support his national approach, but the States can and should regulate smoking.
Smoking Bans Are Dangerous to a Free Society's Health
From the article:
The City Council and General Assembly can nurture that choice by requiring all bars and restaurants to determine their own smoking policies. Smoking-allowed establishments can then choose whether to be all-smoking or to have separate smoking and nonsmoking sections. To help consumers identify which establishments cater to their preferences, bars and restaurants could be required to post their smoking policies at their entrances, and they could be penalized for violating them.
A law like that would allow smokers and nonsmokers to enjoy the environments they choose. If most customers prefer a nonsmoking environment, many bars and restaurants will follow the money and prohibit smoking. But other establishments will cater to smokers and allow tobacco use.
Now go peddle your "polls" elsewhere, please.
I'm glad to see so many people repulsed by former fatty Hucklebuck's heavy handed authoritarianism.
I'm all for that. How about a law school level test on the Constitution too?
