See the video!

This is a definite strike against this candidate for me. This is one position Huckabee should definitely reconsider.

Well, as the title suggest, this is a “National” one he supports.

Huckabee Calls for National Smoking Ban in Public Places

The morons (all right-wing extremists) who run my city have already done so.

El Cajon [CA] bans smoking in most public places

Are you serious?

If you are the answer is yes. Chandra’s remains were found in Rock Creek Park in DC.

And I’m NOT exaggerating, folks. I work for a law firm and lawyers have warned us about this. They even have the no smoking signs posted IN THE PARKING GARAGE and on the attendant booths. You cannot even smoke outside of the terminal tower downtown OUTSIDE of their building. The no smoking signs are posted all over the place. They are literally littering the state.

This is just too funny (from the “Huck for Pres” website not on there now, but it was the other day):

“Another Man From Hope — Former governor Mike Huckabee shares some of Clinton¹s talents, but is definitely his own man”

Should I laugh or cry?

I am not a smoker and avoid places where smoking is permitted, but I would never agree to ban smoking in public places. Let the marker decide. No smoking sections work well for decades.

It was A BS answer. Restaurants and bars are public places, are they not?
And why does he have that "deer in the headlights" look goin' on?

Any idiot who calls for this......on a legal product.......just got flushed. Here that sound? See the swirl?

Grow up, Huckabee, and grow a set while you’re at it. Used to think you were pretty cool. Be daddy to your kids, not me, boy.

Oh, hubby and I are planning on it. We’re going to try our hardest. Let me reiterate, folks, I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. Don’t let this happend in your state. Be careful of what you wish for. Laws can be too strict. If your state wants something, make sure its sensible.

I am sorely disappointed with Mr. Huckabee. While I daresay, with his own personal health oddessy he may be well-meaning, that doesn't change the fact that the most dangerous tyrants are those who are not necessarily acting in their own self interest, but in YOURS (I think C.S. Lewis has a quite something like that).

While I personally think smoking is unwise, so is watching too much TV, web surfing too much, and on... yet, such things are way beyond the pale of government interference. I think education is one of those matters, too, but that's another argument for another day.

Anyhow, this makes me want to just light up a cig and let it burn, just because I am free to do so. Only problem is, I don't know if they keep burning without someone puffing on it (ain't touching that to my lips in a million years), what would I do with the other cigarettes in the pack (I assume they aren't sold individually), and I don't want any cent of mine being syphoned off via the purchase of a pack due to huge government taxes on it. Government is the biggest profiteer off of that addiction, just like it is on gas.

Sheesh. Err on the side of freedom, Mr. Huckabee.

This is EXCATLY the law that Mr. Huckabee is proposing for the ENTIRE NATION, folks. Not any type of tobacco product ANYWHERE — PERIOD. If that’s what you want, then fine. If not... I’m just letting you know what’s happened here in Ohio, that’s all. :-)
