HUNTSVILLE -- A man who served prison time in California as a juvenile for his role in the slaying of his stepfather was executed Wednesday night for the robbery and slaying of a San Antonio taxi driver 13 years ago.
Speaking slowly and barely above a whisper, John Joe Amador, 32, said in a brief statement from the gurney: "God forgive me. God forgive them, for they know not what they do. After all these years, our people are still lost in hatred and anger. Give them peace, God, for people seeking revenge toward me."

One thing this gentleman won’t hear is, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”........

It's not revenge, it's justice.

God forgive them, for they know not what they do. Oh yeah, we know what we're doing. It just should have been done to you a long time ago. It's about 13 years late.

It’s amazing how the condemned find faith at the last minute.

The State of California should have executed him when he killed his stepfather and it would have saved a life and the taxpayers of Texas a lot of money.

Can't imagine why "our" people are so lost in hatred and anger just because John Joe felt like blowing away their Dad.

Sounds like he subscribed to the same brand of “Christianity” that Karla Faye Tucker did.

As opposed to the mercy he had for his fellow man...

Texas: Doing the *necessary* jobs that Californians think are too “icky” to do.
We paid too high a price for California’s squeamishness.

Some “faith” — more like another excuse for his behavior. “Society” made him do it and “Society” is inflicting revengue upon him.
Whatever this is — it’s definitely not any viable “faith” I know of.

And how much you wanna bet, these aren’t his words...someone from one of those anti-execution groups probably wrote it for him? Sounds something like their rhetoric.

For all the “Judge not” crowd -
We don’t judge their souls, we punish them for their crimes then we send them up to the Big Guy just as fast as the court system allows so He can judge them.
He has more mercy then they showed their victims.
