More people who see the constitution as nothing more than a "lovely document".

An Arlington judge yesterday ruled that starting in January an unelected regional body can levy on Northern Virginia residents a slew of new taxes and fees to pay for local transportation upgrades. There is ONLY ONE way to describe this accurately.
It is TYRANNY!
TYRANNY!
TYRANNY!

It’s about time the rest of the US starts catching up with the People’s Republic Of Washington State (PROWS) - we’re the cutting edge of taxation without representation! We’re not called PROWS for nothing - all your State’s ships will eventually follow our leading edge!
After all, we have an unelected board - Sound Transit - deciding how to spend and squander billions of dollars. Supposedly “authorized” by a vote where the elections office and elections director are appointed - not elected!
To top it off, we have a multi-billion dollar sewage treatment plant for King County being built in Snohomish County. Essentially put into a county where not a single resident could vote on the need for, funding of, oversight, or representation of the controlling authority (King County).
Welcome to the new era - the appointed ones know better than us, so just eliminate those pesky, time consuming, and expensive elections and let them make the decisions!

Good grief it sounds like the citizens need to form their own “political subdivision” regarding this judges decision. Incidently I always thought political sub division refered to police departments ie: ATF form 4.

Will never hold water with the SCOTUS.....if THEY follow the US Constitution. Unless the Virginia Constitution has conferred on the Authority the right to collect taxes.

Virginia has enjoyed a good economy for years, and it's no coincidence that it has also been one of the lowest-taxed states in the country. These morons are going to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. I saw it coming when I moved away from NoVa 3 years ago.
And you can bet the hordes of illegals in NoVa won't be paying any of these new taxes!

As for tax tyranny from unelected black-robes, here is one of my favorites.
To improve the education of black students and encourage desegregation, a federal judge invited the Kansas City, Missouri, School District to come up with a cost-is-no-object educational plan and ordered local and state taxpayers to find the money to pay for it.
