Senator Larry Craig is either incoherent or incompetent – or both. His press conference on Tuesday afternoon was exactly the wrong thing to do - on nearly every level. And I for one do not believe that most of his story holds.
Save this one item, when he stated clearly, "I am not gay!"
I'm sure there was no merriment whatsoever in his life the preceding number of hours up to the press conference.
If he meant that was "not homosexual" that too is also likely.
Homosexuality is not a state of defined being. Rather on the best science man has gathered we understand it to be a series of emotions, feelings, desires, choices, and most importantly behavior.

The argument that ‘he has sex with men but he’s not gay’ involves too much prison logic for me to comprehend.

Not try to make it quietly go away with a un-counseled plea-bargain and not informing lawyers, friends and family to assist you in fighting this 'setup'.
That’s the trouble I have with all this. If this happened to me there is no way in God’s creation that I would not have undertaken every measure to clear my name! I would not have agreed to ANY stinkin’ plea bargin deal!
the likelihood is that when he says he is not gay he means it in the same way that bill clinton did when he said he did not have sex with monica lewinsky. Clinton was not counting a little head. Likely Craig isn’t either.
Somehow someone in congress needs to regularly tell republicans that they are not predators when they chase boys or girls or what have you.
Republican Congressmen looking for sex outside marriage are prey animals. They need to be told that they will be hunted down. They need to be told this regularly.
Look at Craig. He’s an old man. He doesn’t have any juice in him. All he’s got dried up sin.
For the VAST MAJORITY it is a LEARNED BEHAVIOUR!
Why do we care? The dems have said we should be proud if we are homosexual.
Larry Craig needs to resign. TODAY!

Most of the fools in Congress couldn’t get or keep an honest man’s job.
A Republic can not survive being led by career politicians....especially those in the pattern of Kennedy, Clinton, Durbin, Schumer, Levin, McCain, Kerry, etc. etc....
He needs to resign now lest he has a Foley effect on the election in ‘08. The libs noticed how effective a tool Foley’s outing was to keep Republican voters home.
I happen to disagree. I know that puts me in the minority around here, which doesn't bother me. I am comfortable with my conclusions because I have probably studied more of the scientific literature than anyone or almost anyone who posts here.
However, for purposes of this issue, it doesn't matter. No Senator (or anyone) has any business cruising for gay sex in public restrooms. Craig needs to resign, immediately. Since he has chosen to be belligerent instead, the GOP leadership needs to force him out. NOW.
You and me both. However, if you were a US Senator with allegations of homosexual activities dating back to 1967, including an existing allegation of homo toilet sex, you might try to cut your losses and plead out. Craig was in a lose/lose situation once the vice cop flashed his badge.
