The Swedish Foreign Ministry has played down the row surrounding a Swedish newspapers recent publication of a picture depicting the Prophet Mohammed as a dog.
A spokeswoman for Foreign Mininster Carl Bildt told the newspaper Dagens Nyheter that the Swedish government does not get involved in what newspapers write.
The Foreign Ministry says it now considers the incident closed.
The drawing, by Swedish artist Lars Vilks, appeared in a local newspaper in the city of Örebro, on August 19. Vilks originally produced three drawings depicting Mohammed as a roundabout, or traffic circle, dog.
Iran lodged an official complaint with Sweden over the publication, and the AFP news agency reported Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saying Zionists were behind the cartoon, attempting to disrupt Swedens relations with other countries.
Good response.
“Two of the cartoons”
- Actually, a new one has been added since last time I checked making it three, not two cartoons portraying Mohammad as a dog.
“Good response.”
- Agree.
However, certain Muslims will demand of the Swedish government to limit the freedom of speech.
Print the cartoons on post-it notes, then place them EVERYWHERE.
Make up stencils of the words ‘Allah’ and ‘Mohammed’, place them ALL OVER—crosswalks, sidewalks, in front of Mosques, etc.
Use colorful spraypaint. Call it diversity.

- But, but.. then Muslims perhaps will not wish to come to Sweden anymore?
How silly. Everyone knows he was a pig.
I heard that the painting is going to be shown in Norway at an art place or something like that
That was so wrong. Muhammed should always be depicted as a pig.
“I heard that the painting is going to be shown in Norway at an art place or something like that”
- Looks like Muhammed strongly is influencing the cultural life of Scandinavia at the moment, but perhaps not in a way the Islamists approve of.
Cheers!
Thanks Westernculture, here in leftist-run Italy all papers mentioned the cartoons but to my knowledge no one dared to show them... “They” might get angry, you know... What’s next, covering up OUR girls in a headscarf?
