Over the years, I have thought about getting a tattoo. Surprising considering my fear of needles! lol I see them everywhere on every classs of person, I see the artwork vary from onr body to another. What causes someone to decide to have a tattoo. Is it cultural? Is it a fad? I am seriously thinking about it now. Any stories, suggestions? Thank you!
It is the Sabbath, after all.
You got me...it was self-conscious reference to a memory of reading Ayn Rand several decades ago. I am not an acolyte of the lady.
But mostly, it was just a smart-assed way of saying that, IMO, tats ain't classy.
Goyim but adopted! Believe BOTH testaments!
So you keep kosher?
Do I keep kosher? Uh, no.
I believe that Jesus fulfilled the law so there is no longer a need to do so. [I did eat kosher when I went to Israel in 1983, but I suppose that wouldn’t count.] So I suppose you will argue that that same philosophy would permit me to have a tattoo. So I guess it is the thought that they look like comic books or bruises is keeping me from a tattoo. Oh, and the pain and the fact that the Red Cross really likes it when I donate.
Yet you use Rabbinical Law to lecture me on tattoos?
Pharisee!
LOL You’re quick.
Yeah, I know what you mean: women don't look so good when they hit 60 either.
I am thinking about the same thing you are hun. I have not come to any decision either, but for sure, if I do get one, it will be as a rite of passage, something for me alone. Not anyone else, not for what anyone else will or will not think of me. It will be for me alone. Ther are tons of posts in this threads about what OTHER people think of Tattoos. In the end, this is a statment from you, about you, ON you. Its ultimately a very narcissistic thing I have decided, and it should be. Narcissism isn’t necessarily a bad thing in certain circumstances. Decide for yourself, see what is possible and what you want to say about yourself. THAT is what it is all about. The rest is fluff. That being said, I am still undecided LOL!
Nah, I'm just sick of getting lectured by Cheeseburger-eatin, shrimp-lovin' Christians using Leviticus to condemn tattoos.
It's like Larry Craig lecturing on fidelity.
here in Nashville...nurses and medical folks wear bodysuit-like tops to hide them at the hospital
word of warning about “sleeves”
Sorry I offended you.
If I ever get a tatoo I’ll have a ikeness of a pocket protector filled with pencils on my left chest area
antidisestablishmentarist wacko
Apology completely accepted and I'm sorry for being overly harsh.
ouch.
Yeah . . . mine decided she loved her co-worker more.
No fun, AT ALL.
Condolences.
I hope your . . . sorting criteria on ladies has become greatly more refined! LOL.
I’ve decided once in a lifetime is enough, for me.
Yes. I've got the best one in the world now, and all other men will have to go without. We have a wonderful little son. I'm sorry for your misfortune as well. It's just the way of the fallen World....
Wow, people are being so nice.... Something's wrong...
OK, lemme start over: I have tattoos, y'know!
“I know you were being ironic in your remark that you stereotype “secretly”...just wanted to chip in my bit on that idea.”
Good post - so true
True. true . . . about the fallen world.
BTW, haven’t you heard . . .
hate the tattoo; love the tattooed?
