Over the years, I have thought about getting a tattoo. Surprising considering my fear of needles! lol I see them everywhere on every classs of person, I see the artwork vary from onr body to another. What causes someone to decide to have a tattoo. Is it cultural? Is it a fad? I am seriously thinking about it now. Any stories, suggestions? Thank you!
That's Your Right.
But I would not agree to accept such from anyone or anything, even in jest.
You, on the other hand, have no fear.
Do you accept the Mark of the Beast?
Do you accept the Mark of the Beast?
I recall the "lick 'em and stick 'em" tattoos in cracker jack boxes when I was a kid. I'm sure I applied one or two. Based on your interpretation, perhaps I do and I'm going to hell.
FYI - I do believe in Evil. The only thing I know about "the mark" is a few obscure verses in Revelations, Damian Thorn finding a 666 on his forhead in The Omen II, and a few crackpots calling in to Art Bell with their latest interpretation as to what "the mark" is. They are the same folks who see an image of the Virgin Mary in their morning toast.
I don't presume to interpret everything in modern life as "the mark," nor do I believe that Jesus expected us to create a separate religion with "the mark" as its central theme.
Obsess over it and you are effectively engaging in some type of perverse idol worship in and of itself. How? Your obsession takes your mind off the teachings of Christ and focuses it on the interpretation and avoidance of "the mark," which you see everywhere. I suspect you are in a league far beyond most who have gotten a tattoo in this regard.
I have a theory. My theory is that you’re an obsessive/compulsive a-hole with the tragic, desperate need to feel superior to everyone, and you just can’t stop yourself. I’m going to test my theory by stringing you along for a while in this thread and making you post a whole novel to each of my single lines. This should be fun.
Now, back to the discussion at hand: I, again, didn’t really read your whole last post, but I read the first couple of lines, and it became very obvious to me that you know you were wrong originally, and now you’re just trying to cover up that fact by engaging in a lot of meaningless personal insults.
Nope, sorry to puncture your bubble, r-tard. You don't see them because they don't have them. The don't have them because generally speaking it's the sort of thing that losers do, and by definition people who have jobs and make decent wages aren't losers. I work in a corporate environment (BTW how's life on welfare these days?) and you'd be surprised (but most people wouldn't) at how people with self inflicted disfigurations are looked down on.
Yep I judge by appearances as do we all.If I see a guy that weights 350 lb I think "lard a$$" I don't think "marathon runner" If I see a guy in grungy clothes holding up a sign "will work for food" I think "BUM" If I see a black kid in clothes 40 sizes too big I think "idiot who wants to look like a gang banger" If you see someone pushing a shopping cart with trash bags full of stuff I'd venture to guess even you don't think "there goes the CEO of Delta." You think "bum." If I see someone with piercings and tattoos and magenta hair then I think "loser" because generally speaking they're losers. You "tat" people are really sensitive because deep down inside you know just how silly you look. If you care about how truly stupid you look, then don't get them. If you're proud of your appearance then don't try to justify you self mutilation to the rest of us, because "frankly my dear we don't give a sh!t".
Oh and just as a word of reality, I know for a fact that a visible "tat" will guarantee that you don't get a management job in the company where I work. It's kind of like drinking a beer during a job interview. The joke about the sales force we have is for what we pay them you get a lot of tattoos, piercings, and chemical dependencies.
If you read my posts, you will see that I don't have any tattoos.
See how stupid you look when you make that assumption?
All your extreme justifications above for your original silly statement were just invalidated by your own idiotic mistake.
I see porsche driver and I think "little, tiny man that thinks he needs to prove something - to other little tiny men." Not all of them mind you, but your comments certainly demonstrate that you fit into that camp.
You tried to stop yourself in your last thread. Yet you couldn't. What does that make you? It apparently makes you ...an obsessive/compulsive a-hole with the tragic, desperate need to feel superior to everyone - by your own criteria!
I never promised to stop. You did.
You've just tested your own theory, but on yourself! You came through with flying colors.
You still never answered any of my arguments either. Why is that? Oh, I know, because you can't.
Why on earth would anyone read your posts?
Not all of them mind you, but your comments certainly demonstrate that you fit into that camp.
I don't drive a posche nor do I want to. "See how stupid you look when you make that assumption? "
WAHAHAHAHA! I've got 16 years in the Army Active/Guard. I'm an electrical engineer and Software Systems Engineer for the Air Force. I play the bagpipe professionally.
Both of my arms are tattooed above my elbows. I work in a very conservative environment. My tattoos are placed such that I can cover them easily with a sport-shirt. Tattoo on my leg too--pants cover that.
You'd never know if I had tattoos if you saw me at work.
I'm very proud of my tattoos. I got them in Scotland each time I was over there....
Thank you for making my point.
"You don't see them because they don't have them. The don't have them because generally speaking it's the sort of thing that losers do, and by definition people who have jobs and make decent wages aren't losers."
I have them, I work in a conservative corporate envionment and I make a very good wage. Now what?
No, its not cultural. Its boredom, lack of attention and having too much spare cash in your pocket......
If you decide to get one on your breast, at least have the common sense to make it an uncoiled snake.......
I only read the first page, which didn’t have the following advice, but perhaps subsequent posters did, so I apologize for any redundancy:
Try to get something that means something to you and that you feel pretty confident will always mean something to you. I got my first and only tattoo at 18 - a Grateful Dead “Steal Your Face” skull - and more than 20 years later still feel pretty good about it.
More like so what. You might wear women's underwear too, but the lumberjack song and your skin illustrations notwithstanding, I strongly suspect that neither practice is widespread in corporate america. Go with the majority. You might be the exception, but that doesn't invalidate my point.
Somethings just beg to be covered.
“Somethings just beg to be covered.”
EGAD! No tattoo should be expected to substitute for 3 feet of reinforced concrete.
Thanks Qx for the ping. I seem to recall reading in the OT somewhere that tatoos are forbidden by God, but don’t have the exact ref handy. Am under the weather now so hopefully later will feel up to finding said ref.
When I’m feeling eally “anxious”, I just scan the room and seek out the first woman with a tattoo I see.
