“Do not post to me”

We've received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this.

1. It's impossible for us to enforce.
2. We don't have the time to enforce these requests.
3. We don't have the software to keep track of these requests.
4. Thick skin helps.
5. Ignore the poster, if you don't reply, they won't reply.

Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps.

Final note: Trolls, troublemakers, disruptors, forum pests, malcontents, RINOs, liberals, stalkers, et al, would continue posting to (harassing) someone after being asked to stop. Conservative FReepers would not.

I think sometimes people just post to the last message in the thread (As I’ve just done to rface).

I don’t really mean to post to rface, I was just too lazy to scroll back up and post to message #1.

In that case, you could erase the name in the "To:" field and it wouldn't post "to" anyone. It would just be a post in the thread.

Yea! This needed to be said. Some are such babies... I’ve never, ever posted to the admin because someone stuck their tongue out at me. I stopped running to mommy after I passed the age of 6.

I consider the political arena something like a mixed martial arts cage match. Don't expect to come into the cage and not get a few bumps.... :)

Does this apply to FR mail as well?

I get a considerable amount of requests via FR mail from FReepers asking me to go out with them........

sometimes for drinks
sometimes for dinner
sometimes for a movie
sometimes for drinks, dinner and a movie.

Then there are the ones that want to fly me (at their expense) to their region of the Country and stay the weekend.

I only have so much free time available and I'm really starting to feel that I'm being pulled in too many directions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have the disposition to be a mod. I have a tendency to carry a grudge. I think that in and of itself would disqualify me.

You're not much different than all of us. I've asked Jim, can I ban this (censored), he says no and I don't. All of us have grudges and posters we dislike, the hard part is trying to stay objective. We do our best but trust me, we all have posters we dislike but do our best not to let it cloud our judgment. If you were a mod you would probably do the same.
