“Do not post to me”
Free Republic ^ | 8/28/07 | Admin Moderator

We've received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this.

1. It's impossible for us to enforce.
2. We don't have the time to enforce these requests.
3. We don't have the software to keep track of these requests.
4. Thick skin helps.
5. Ignore the poster, if you don't reply, they won't reply.

Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps.

Final note: Trolls, troublemakers, disruptors, forum pests, malcontents, RINOs, liberals, stalkers, et al, would continue posting to (harassing) someone after being asked to stop. Conservative FReepers would not.

Vernor’s. Or a nice can of Faygo Rock and Rye.

My wofe can tell you of the delight when she brought some Vernor's home. I hadn't had it in decades!

As a summer drink, wonderful.

Now all we need are cold, snowy winters in Seattle so I can enjoy a hot Vernor's at the outdoor skating rink. (Bring on that Ice Age!)

LIke p[u]shing the “door close button["] on the elevator?

I've studied this. On some elevators it actually works.

I’ll have to check and see what my wofe thinks of that.

It’s still the Orange Crush...although very much improved since the recently completed the widening of the 22.

Public or private -- I know it not.

Perhaps you should start with a plot overview from IMDB.com. I have to warn you--and ordinarily I would not give a second's thought to the idea--but the movie does contain some coarse language, though it's illustrative of a truly dumbed down, pleasure seeking society, which is truly the director's intention. There's a confluence of Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 and Orwell's 1984 that will become very clear within thirty minutes.

Sorry, I'm a recovering film geek and practicing literature buff.

Hey there. Usenet... those were the days!

Today was bittygirl’s first day of preschool. She absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave. She fell asleep in the car and napped for over an hour after we got home. The first thing she asked when she woke up was if she could go back... today (meaning NOW).

Spiderboy enjoyed her first day of school, too :-) It was a very productive day. We managed too do almost a week’s worth of spelling in an hour.

Mmmm...Vernor’s...

My Dad’s from Wisconsin and Mom grew up in Michigan. They both loved the stuff...we ended up in Vermont, so whenever any friends visited the Midwest, Dad had a standing order for them to bring back as much as they could tote.

I tried to do the same by plane a few years ago, but one can didn’t make the trip, and it was...rather messy. :-\ So in spite of being able to get it here in Washington (I have some in the fridge right now, as a matter of fact!), I don’t think I’ll attempt to take any home with me this weekend.

Don't remember my first day of preschool (well over a half-century ago) but my few memories were all of having fun.

hiya Rosie. We can, strangely enough, get Vernor’s here in Dallas. You just gotta know where to go.

That’s the way it is here in WA, too. The bigger grocery chains tend not to carry it, but the local chain does.

I wish there was a way I could bring home a few cans for Dad, but considering how well wrapped they were last time, I think it’s almost hopeless. I could do it if we were still allowed to carry on liquids, but...

It seems rude that some would feel a need to tell someone not to post to them. If you think someone is being rude, stop writing back, you don’t need to always get the last word, in fact, if tried, it could drive a person crazy.
