Jack Carter, who ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in Nevada last fall, has endorsed Sen. Joe Biden to be the Democratic nominee for president.
Carter, the son of former President Jimmy Carter, seemed to snub Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for his lack of experience and New York Sen. Hillary Clinton for having high unfavorable ratings in polls.
"With Joe Biden, we don't have to worry about the problems of lack of experience or high negatives affecting our chances in November 2008," Carter, 60, said in a statement released by the Biden campaign Monday. "I'm very comfortable that he can win."
Biden called Carter's support a valuable asset in Nevada and in early nominating state Iowa, "where the Carter name is revered."
Jimmy Carter is renowned for going from obscurity to becoming the Democratic nominee in 1976 after winning the Iowa caucuses.
Stupid looking father, stupider looking son.
The guy was a carpetbagger here, what a joke.
You are right! Jack tried to mimic the things all the other Democrats were saying. He just wasn’t too successful in his delivery. I certainly hope he gives up trying to run for office. The worst thing about having him run for the Senate in Nevada was the insufferably frequent visits to the state by his father.
Well that’s it, we’re finished.
So Carter is plugged in for Biden, lol.
Why is this news?
A loser Senate candidate, and the son of a President whose second term saw the most staggering defeat in modern Presidential politics ... endorses a Presidential candidate with only slightly less chance of winning than Ron Paul (whose chance of victory is negligible).
Slow news day?

I believe that Jimmy Carter was a one term disaster...who knew one could do so much damage in a mere four year time period? Let’s see... Mariel boat fiasco, allowing Panama Canal zone to slip into Red China’s hands, Iranian embassy seizure, and gas lines 3 to 4 blocks long in NYC and across the country.
I looked at the title of this thread and wondered, “Who is Jack Carter?” Now I know and I am still asking, “Who is Jack Carter?”
ROFLMAO!!!
Wow if Jack Carter endorses your presidential campaign you’ve really arrived....
Let’s see, a loser nobody with nothing going for him except his execrable father..... will this mean more than 5 votes and $500 for Biden?? I doubt it.....
Franco’s dead? And how’s Castro feeling?
>> Lets see... Mariel boat fiasco, allowing Panama Canal zone to slip into Red Chinas hands, Iranian embassy seizure, and gas lines 3 to 4 blocks long in NYC and across the country.
And, still, he blamed the entire fiasco, not on his incompetence ... but on our “crisis of confidence”. He should have given a speech about his failure to inspire any confidence.
What a dope. Not that I remember any of his presidency ... having been born in 1979 ... but Carter’s incompetence is nonetheless a legendary demonstration of the abject failure of liberal thought.
I’m sure Joe Biden is having a cocktail party to celebrate the endorsement of the offspring of that waste of space.

#####The others in the race have to be mighty envious...#####
Silky Pony’s wife will soon attack Jack Carter on the cable talk shows. Just watch.
Who is Jack Carter, you ask? He’s a racist, otherwise he’d have endorsed Obama. He’s a sexist, otherwise he’d have endorsed Hillary. And he’s a homophobe, otherwise he’d have endorsed Silky Pony.
Getting used to his new digs - and asking for ice water LOL.
I think what is meant here is that Obama has the lack of experience while Hillary has the high negatives....in this case nothing to do with a person’s character but what percentage of likely voters have a negative opinion of the candidate. Hillary’s are rather high — possibly too high for her to be elected.
Like father like son. Just another clueless Carter flapping his gums.
Slow news day?
The day that Ron Prescott Reagan (Note: Not "Ron Reagan Jr.") announces for Barak Obama, there could be a major terrorist attack against Manhattan, and the NY Times will still find room for the endorsement on its front page.
