Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

“He goes to Moveon.org and plays the anti-war angle and then comes here and pretends he cares about abortion, limited government, etc.”

Well, that is because Ron Paul is pro-life, for limited government, and for a non-interventionist foreign policy. His freedom message brings people together.

I will never vote for him. Ever. For any reason.

Some folks don't grasp that Christians, especially pastors like you, feel strongly that to cast a vote for such a person is to directly partake of their sins and all that follows. This is like a grievous premeditated personal sin, far worse than merely placing your trust in someone who later on might not be all that you had hoped.

Voting for a liberal anti-liberty, baby-killing Champion Of Choice™ and a leading advocate for sodomy is to partake of those sins.

To Christians, these are very personal spiritual issues that secular voters simply do not grasp.

For devout Christians, voting for Giuliani is like voting for Satan. Or voting for Hitlery. The three are pretty much the same. And we don't sway on this issue or play partisan mind games. The GOP had better figure it out before it's too late if they want something other than a bloodbath at the polls in November 2008. We aren't a majority in the GOP. But they will never win without us. And Giuliani is permanent defeat for our social conservative agenda. It is his nature as an apostate to remake the world to fit his small ideas. He must destroy us and all we stand for, his soothing lies and denials notwithstanding.

#715 is very amusing. I guess he wanted to sound like a typical Paulistinean. And I’m sure many of them do worry about martians. Ron Paul probably has the concerned-about-martians vote wrapped up too.

You'd get a more coherent response from a shower curtain than from the soccer lady.

“Well, that is because Ron Paul is pro-life, for limited government, and for a non-interventionist foreign policy. His freedom message brings people together.” No, it is because you are an unprincipled used car salesman, pretending to be what both sides want to hear. You voted for John Kerry in 2004 and you expect us to believe you care about pro-life issues, limited government, etc?

I’m not buying that excuse. He still has his personal info up there — name, location, age, school etc. The only thing he’s changed is his political history — and the embarrassing plan to troll for votes at Moveon.org. His bio used to say he voted for Kerry, then jumped around from libertarian, to democrat, etc. Now, suddenly, he changes it is all aboard for Ron Paul!

I’m trying to get the point across that the public doesn’t reflect Free Republic.

We are the right wing of the political spectrum. We see the world through free republic colored glasses and assume that the rest of the world sees things the same way we do.

They don’t.

Ron Paul Campaign does not control support activities from the meetup groups.

And I explained this to the jackals a million times on this thread, ma'am. All of the Paul-related activities - from the bumper stickers and memorabilia, the meet-ups, the blogs, etc - are COMPLETELY SEPARATE FROM PAUL'S OFFICIAL CAMPAIGN. So of course, Paul is going to unfortunately attract some undesirables who want to exploit his campaign for selfish reasons. But you're not going to convince the Paul-bashers otherwise. They don't like Paul because of the sole issue that he wants the troops out of Iraq. Never mind his dedication to the Constitution and liberty, that's all in the trash because he won't support nation-building and a police action.

ROFLOL!!!!! Yesterday, you were accusing this very guy of hoodwinking Ron Paul supporters, and now he's your new best friend! Talk about incoherent! BTW, I'm still waiting for you to give me a coherent explanation as to why the "constitutionality" of a declaration of war mattered to Paul regarding Iraq, but didn't matter to him regarding Afghanistan.

Yeah, I realized you were the “real” Karsten when your embarrassing plan to campaign at Moveon.org rallies disappeared and was replaced with a new-and-improved-I’m-really-a-conservative-and-freepers-should-support -Paul ad appeared in its place.

Kind of hard to be “strong defense” when as a candidate, Paul proposes a CUT/RUN & SURRENDER strategy just like a LIEberal DUmocrat.

Please re-read my post. Paul has always supported the military and Reagan's defense build-up. Just because he doesn't support the Iraq war now doesn't mean he's an anti-war moonbat.

His words play right into the enemies hands and they’d just love for the US to elect a weak-kneed RINO.

And those enemies would be demolished if we were to get hit again under Paul. There would be no nation-building, no "international community" or "spreading democracy" crapola. Terrorists would be killed, period.

By the way, where’s the fence that Ronnie Paul built? How about the anti-illegal immigration bills? Actions speak much louder than empty rhetoric, especially from a RINO LIEbertarian.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Paul has always been an opponent of illegal immigration by voting to deny them access to our social services and other handouts. He supports a militarized border - that means he wants the Army on the border and not Border Patrol agents. And not just a neighborhood suburban fence that Hunter supports.

I don’t base my vote on Clinton....any REAL conservative would beat either. It’s when you put up squishy moderates and empty suit RINOs when the party fractures. Guess some will never learn the lessons of 1992 and 1996.

Ron Paul is a true conservative. To say otherwise is simply lashing out in desperation.

My support and my vote will be based on the STRONGEST conservative candidate in the race. Paul’s record doesn’t even come close.

I'm sure your support of Hunter will raise his totals from .00001% to .0001%.

Paul said “GET OUT NOW” when asked about Iraq....he doesn’t need any spin on that. It is CUT & RUN, same as when a DUmocrat says it.

Nice try, but anyone who supports cut and run in the middle of a war is less than a serious candidate. Also went over and beyond kooksville...”War was never declared, we went in illegally”.

Keep living in dreamland...and say hi to your MoveOn friends while you’re at it.

Guess I should thank him for the life lesson, huh?
