Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

Welcome to FR. I am the individual who started this thread. First of all I posted it in the Blogger section and never expected that the MODs would decide to put it on the sidebar. I am certainly not complaining as I think the core issue should be discussed.

Second, all of the "bashing" going on here is from YOUR fellow Ron Paul supporters. I see that once you showed up on the thread they start telling you what a great job you are doing for Ron Paul and encouraging your efforts. However, earlier in the thread if you take the time to scroll back, you will see that they were calling YOU everything BUT a child of God, --- see post #14 "FRINGE LUNATIC -- see post #25 "Anti-war Moonbat -- see post #128 "one wingnut in Pasadena" --- and on and on.. ) THESE ARE THE COMMENTS ABOUT YOU -- FROM YOUR FELLOW RON PAUL SUPPORTERS HERE ON FR --- who are now praising your efforts -- which is it folks???

No one doubts that Ron Paul is very strong CONSTITUTIONALIST -- and as such has been on the "right" side of most issues that conservatives hold near and dear -- this makes him a very effective member of congress IMHO -- but at the same time his view of the GWOT makes him UNFIT to be Commander in Chief -- IMHO of course --

The whole purpose of this thread was to ask the Ron Paul supporters here on FR if they agree or disagree with your efforts -- what we found was that they DISAGREE with your views -- but support the efforts of the Anti-war crowd if it helps recruit more folks into Ron Paul's camp.

Lastly, I stated earlier in this thread that IF a group of folks claiming to be Duncan Hunter supporters were trying to recruit folks at a MoveOn event, I would suggest that they were in fact NOT genuine in their support -- and would state so publicly

I know what is on the Meetup pages and I have posted on it for all to see. Unlike you guys, we actually bring source material and verifiable documents to an argument.

I'm not sure why you're so upset that Karsten is trying to convert the MoveOn's to supporting Ron Paul. Maybe they'll learn something about liberty and small government as a menace to us all. Well, maybe not menacing to big-government pro-empire partisan hacks.


As for getting their votes, we'll take all the votes we can get just like anyone else does. And they're supporting Ron Paul; he's not necessarily supporting them. Since we have so many open primaries now, obviously that is the policy of the GOP. If you don't like it, complain to them. In the meantime, I'll post a graphic to remind people to switch to Republican if needed in order to vote for Ron Paul. [Notice that is a hyperlinked image. I've right-justified now for a while but never tried a right-justified and hyperlinked image before. I feel so special.

Thanks for contacting me. I think the context of the thread is fair and appropriate.. I never said anything bad about you or Ron Paul.. in fact most of the “bashing” came from your fellow Ron Paul supporters.. You have addressed some of them on FR, and since you have not posted anything in violation of FR posting guidelines you are a FReeper in good standing. I look forward to more discussions on FR.

As for your request to remove the thread, you are free to ask the moderators to remove it, but since it was the moderators who placed it on the side-bar, I doubt they will remove it, and if they did I would strongly object. The debate is FAIR, let’s just keep it civil. – You said you don’t like the “implication” -— there is no implication in my original post – just a statement of fact that you were encouraging Ron Paul supporters to attend the move-on event – and that is a fact which you do not dispute ——
